Another example why the 1970s still were the cooler decade than the 1980s.

I am a forever Chaka fan. I can listen to her music all day every day on replay all the way and it will never get old. Her music is as relevant today as it was back in the day. Period.

Such amazing vocals. Check out her and Rufus covering Crosby, Stills and Nash's "Love The One Your With". She blows the roof off the joint with her range. Damn fine looking then and still is 50 some years later, like fine wine!

Chaka.....you changed my life. 'Live Stomping at the Savoy' was like witnessing a UFO. I was totally slack-jawed. It was then that I decided bass guitar was Waaaaay cooler than the trombone I was playing in band. I was a citrus-fed white boy in the Florida deep south......but I had a Cuban aunt with that album......it was like I had discovered Music for the first time. Why arent you and Karen Carpenter in the RHOF???? I love you, Chaka. I was a staff bassist in a large church for over 10 years, and my dream is to play bass for you on 'Stay' On my headstone will be written ' The good Lord will stand behind, but understand we are blind......to fate. That's life.' I hope to live long enough to see you inducted. You are special in my heart, and I wish you much happiness. Notwithstanding the many great singers: You and Karen Carpenter, as drummers and singers, are the best of the female voice. Xoxo
