Welcome to my first video of 2021. Sorry for the long wait, car has been sitting for a month in the garage on jack stands because my old coilovers broke but they finally came in, that vid coming next. Finally get to say bye bye to the old junky DC Sports headers and installed some high quality ISR Long Tube Headers. I tried ceramic coating these but don't think I did such a great job. Great video, I had the same exact setup and I loved it. The one thing that I changed was I switched my ISR Y-pipe for a Motordyne xyz Y-pipe with the resonator. Made a HUGE difference, no more rasp at any rpm. Z1 Motorsport just started selling the same kind of Y-pipe with the 3 attachments (straight pipe, resonator, or HFC). Main difference between the two brands is the Motordyne attachments use a v-band clamp and the Z1 uses a standard 2 bolt flange. Also I used the “titanium” header wrap on mine and it was definitely worth the time and effort that it took to do it

Hello, one of the headers developed a crack at the collector and no matter how many times I had it welded, it always cracked. Not saying this happens to all DC headers, but it did to me so I personally wouldn't ever buy them again.

Hey there, welcome to the channel, much appreciated 💪😃👍🙏. Good choice on the ISR LTH's, I think these are the best bang for the buck. I haven't gotten re-tune yet, waiting on my long tube intakes to come in. For the most part car seems to be running good, drives pretty normal, doesn't idle weird but sometimes my AFR's at a dead stop will fluctuate down to high 13's and other times up to low 15's and other times it'll stay around the 14.7 like it should. Hello and thanks, I'm actually running the SOHO 3" single exit exhaust system which is specifically made for the G37 sedan. So no extension is necessary.

Hello there. I didn't wrap them because these engines are infamous for leaky engine covers, the oil drips down right on the headers. I've actually been told by another G37 sedan owner who wrapped his tell me that one of his header wraps caught on fire during a Dyno session because it was soaked with oil. This is the biggest reason I sprayed mine, the change I would make in my process is to: sand/scuff them down after you're done spraying down all of the primer coats (allow plenty of time to dry). I say this because the ceramic coating pealed off mine but the primer didn't, so far I haven't had issues but only time will tell with the heat out here in AZ.

Hello, the flame/burble is part of the tune, it's achieved on deceleration with the gas pedal by pressing it down slightly somewhere between 5,500-4,000 RPM.

Hello there. For me both headers developed cracks at the bottom of the collector, in the video I show where I've had them welded, plus I have other videos where I talk about that more. Not only that, the 3 hole flange that connects to the test pipes is not flat, it's kind of warped so I've never been able to get a good seal. I'm not saying all have this issue, but why take the chance, good luck either way.

You need two, one kit comes with both. I couldn't tell you which type you'll need cause it may be different for your year model. For my 2013 G37 sedan I needed the Type 1.

That's actually a pretty decent price for parts and Install considering the Headers alone are like $750 with tax. Does it include the O2 sensor extenders? Honestly for $1K there's no other part that I've installed that matches the headers in power and torque. Worth it 100% 💪😃👍

About to put in my DC headers tomorrow any tips? I had a exhaust shop steal my cats and they welded pipe from headers to y pipe so now I have to replace it all. 😮‍💨 09 infiniti g37s I got isr test pipes and y pipe. Still haven't picked out the axleback yet

Take your time and make sure you have another form of transportation in case you get stuck. Don't be afraid to bend some of those AC lines out of the way like I showed in the video. At times it'll get frustrating so walk away/take a break every once in a while, good luck.

@grooveyque4766 They made the exhaust louder of course, had to keep welding because there was a crack that no matter how many times it got welded, it always kept cracking. Not saying this will always happen to others, but why risk it? I also hear the ISR long Tube Headers fit the G37x models as well.

Hello Raul, I actually live in Arizona, not Utah. Like I said in the video I was afraid that if i wrapped mine they would get coated in oil from leaking valve covers and they would catch on fire. This actually happened to someone I know, true story. I been recently under the G and I noticed the block caked in oil from the leaking valve covers LOL, so I'm glad I just sprayed them instead.

Yes it will make a huge difference if you go from shorty headers to ISR. In fact with what I know now, I'll be going with ISR LTH for my 370Z.

Because they cracked on me and no matter how many times I had the crack welded, didn't matter they always cracked and leaked. I do think this isn't always typical on the DC headers but either way if you're going to do this job you may as well put something better in there like the ISR LTH.

True, so in your case I would recommend ISR shorties which are new but I'm sure they're as good quality at the long tube ones. The DC ones have very thin runners, I know you're not looking to add too much flow but for the work involved the DC's are not worth the trouble. That's just my opinion though, you do what's best or makes more sense for you. Good luck

Hey bro what was the problem with your shortys ? I recently seen the Dc Headers and Megan but I didn’t buy them due to your reviews instead I went with these 1320 performance once’s of eBay that look better tig welded but are very similar , so I just want to hear the problem with the shortys to be aware

Things to be aware of are: hope that the pipe on the driver's side doesn't hit the steering knuckle. Hope that the surface on the 3 hole flange is nice and flat and not warped. Finally hope those welds hold up, especially at the bottom where it connects to the test pipes. Hope that helps.ñ and good luck.

The DC's were ceramic coated so didn't need wrapping. Also, they just had the right bend at the bottom and missed the steering knuckle. The Megan Racing ones hit the steering knuckle and if they would have fit I would have wrapped them. Only place I would see being an issue after wrapping is getting to the nuts due to the thickness of the wrap, hope that makes sense.

Hey there, it's holding up perfectly fine. This thing is high quality that won't break the bank. This one is 2.75", most others are 2.5" so I would say the ISR Y-Pipe will yield you the most HP.

@@g35tho11 Hey man, you running 10w-30 because you burn oil? I run 5w-30 all year long, some people like doing 10w-30 in the summer and 5w-30 in the winter to combat the oil burning issue. @@jordan122095 Yeah it might to some extend, you have to compromise in one direction or the other = Best flow exhaust but loud or resonated quieter exhaust system but flow restriction. I'm going to start adding resonators on my G37 exhaust setup soon, I've done the loud exhaust system for like two years and I think I'm finally over it LOL. Basically been there done that, want something more tame at this point.

Hello there, it's going to make any exhaust system sound louder, so be ready for that. Performance wise it was decent, never got a before and after dyno so I don't have HP #'s. They are definitely better than stocks that's for sure but I think the ISR LTH are the best bang for your buck.

@@MemosGarageAZ l have some feedback on the DC Sports Ceramic headers. The sound did change (in an unpleasant way) so much so that I'm going back to stock exhaust manifold (stock had a deeper sound). My exhaust tone hisses for a bit at over 3k rpm. Too much pressure going through my exhaust. NOT GOOD! HORRIBLE! HISSING!?!?!! On top of the unpleasant sound l did NOT feel a power increase difference at all. These were a total waste of time and money for me. Going back to stock tomorrow! But thanks for ur review, this is my experience.

Its part of the ECUTEK software, you can download the app for your phone. The gauges can be customized by you, it's got so many parameters too many to list, it reads all the major things/sensors you can imagine. The major ones I have in the main screen are: coolant temp, oil temp, a/f, intake air temp.

You'll definitely feel a difference, but if You're not planning on ever doing headers in the future, try doing some type of test pipes, maybe art pipes or high flow cats to help with the rasp/loudness before you get it tuned.

No, I was tuned with DC Sport Headers and CWorks Designs resonated test pipes. I then added the ISR Long Tube Headers and I haven't re-tune yet, the car is running okay, but I really should have my tuner check it to make sure.
