FC 25 - Does Role++ Acutally Make a difference? Is there actually NO DIFFERENCE?

The thing I think most people don't realise about roles is they work in tandem. For an example if you have a right mid on inside forward ++ he will stay stay out wide unless you have like an attacking wingback or half winger forcing them inside. This was confirmed by an EA dev on a podcast. I've been using CAMs as shadow striker all year with an ST on advanced forward but never felt like the CAM did what I wanted them to do. All of a sudden I put Raspadori in my team and put him on false 9 ++ and now my CAM is constantly looking to get in behind

Exactly this. Guy on the podcast also mentioned new cdm role where your player covers a fullback going forward, which might be very useful. People just copy meta tactics then cry they are useless becouse it doesn't score goals for them.

Yeah I think Neal vastly underestimates ++ Roles. If it is noticeable on Attacking Wingbacks then the effect on other positions must be noticeable as well. The part about how they work in tandem is huge. The developer even said he's surprised how the community hasn't made much use of it.

@dakhoa The problem is these role ++ system is great when servers are stable, unfortunately game is so delayed very often and you simply can't timed your intentions. While having a ball with cm just turn towards your attacker and see how he moves - in perfect server scenario he starts making great run, in mudded one he just spins around like a dog playing with bone. By the time he makes a move, your opponent is already onto you and you can't make a pass anymore. EA FC 25 is one of the best football game ever on one condition - you play at 3.00 am when servers are empty.

Yep, i was getting mad at why my playmaker CM wasn’t going forward alot then i saw that my inside forward winger was occupying the middle pitch. Also if you have CM playmaker with 80+ defensive awareness they don’t go forward that much compared to CM playmaker with below 50 defensive awareness.

I notice the roles a lot on defense, you try playing a fullback on the fullback role when they dont have it on ++ or just +, out of position constantly, gets stuck a lot of times, lets the wingers run on the spaces between them and the centre back, very noticeable

The usefulness of roles pretty much depends on what the boost looks like: let's say I play 90 Pajor on a hunter. She now has 98 Attack positioning. Now let's assume a + role gives +2 attack positioning and a ++ gives +4. They would essentially be wasted points because she only needs the one point to be maxed out and she doesn't even need that point anyway. So the question is: do roles do more than just marginally increase positioning stats and if so what exactly?u

You press L1 and they run offside if you're not quick enough then they don't come back til you press R1

Role ++ just makes each player more intelligent in the position they're assigned to plain and simple. The role ++ breaks the cieling of what a player can really do in the role, but if they dont have the qualifying stats in att. or def. then the role ++ becomes obsolete. Hope this helps

Two strikers both target forwards on support tend to be positioned on wing. Makes the one two lobbed through passes very convenient. Can creative run them into central too. Even Rooney and mbappe do well on target forward even though advanced forward ++ is their position

I think it genuinely depends on how the fit in the team. Swapped to WW smith with ++ over gold with +, and I hated the new positioning. Technically her positioning was better, but not in my style of play.

I don’t feel like any of it makes any difference. I manually trigger my fullbacks, I don’t want them randomly out of position. Also strikers are always standing offside or getting caught out by automatic offside trap. Need to player lock to pull players onside.

5:00 - 75% of the community play 4213 where AI of 4 centerbacks (fullbacks on defend) and 2 cdms basically defends for them. Long ball Into the winger and fast counterattack becouse you are expose. I swear some people in weekend league were giving ball away for free just to sit deep and was able to counterattack. Fantastic job EA

Palmer Trailblazer only has Finesse Shot on Silver, but it feels better then some Players with Finesse+. Go ahead and try it. Just did it because I play untrade since a few weeks to save up Coins for TOTY

I agree with basically everything but it's really hard to judge as long as there is no hard data. Does a player with 99 passing benefit from tiki taka or is he already maxed out? How come i have scored around 400 Trivelas with Bacha since last year and she doesn't have the trivela trait?

The trivela playstyle does not improve the shooting. It only improves the probability of your player taking a trivela without you actively triggering it.

++ works..Players move depending on other player positions, in tactics press square to make sure 2 players are not covering same position on attacks..I play 433 with a holding cdm, and 2 roaming playermakers in cm. RW/LW inside forward, ST advanced, they move off eachother..All with ++, full England squad.

There is also anothet aspect. I have full swedish team, i played with isak, he had everything looking good: Stats, Playstyles, roles. Advance forward ++. But ingame he just missed WAY to many oppertunies. I sold him and brought in Schellin, with similar stats and worse playstyles and worse roles. But ingame she just scored alot more oppurtunities, the ones Isak was missing.

I agree with the 90% of what you said but I will say something about the 10% In my LM position I have Diaz ( Dinho Evo ) and Nico Williams gold Card although both can play inside forward because Williams have Role ++ in inside forward he always in the best position and make way more runs than Dias so I think in that area it really makes a difference

Some players are exempt Had ++ players who stand still looking like a tourist.And ive had zero plus on a player making insane movements and runs. Also ive noticed the left side of the pitch ++ seem toned down.But the game is biggest pile of shit so who really knows anything.

If you play 4 4 2 , your RF false 9, and your RM inside forward, then your false 9 will go to RM, and your RM will play as ST. but sometimes the transition take so long you need to pass forward as soon you see the chance, the game is only 6 min half, so it's useless using this kind of role, the key to play this game is Meta players, timing pass, dribbling, time finishing or precision. learn meta L1 + Triangle. you only using 1 players manually control with 9 Ai , so mostly when we lose the Ai will against you, your Ai doesnt have any space or make runs, EVO objective player is FAKE STAT,.

How I see it,the role + is a multiplier of the att pos, def awareness stat.simple. N Ea sorta confirmed it ad how in a podcast nep went thru. As well as, ea indirectly admitted some of the role plus stuff wasn’t working at launch. (Read the patch notes specifically the bug fixes, a lot of fixing role ++ for specific roles) so who knows what roles aren’t working optimally, as intended by the devs
