I would say if you have the Mini and are considering buying the 'X' to instead, just get the Neo top. I have never seen or wished for the use of the 'ankles' to adjust the leg to ground angle. To me it's just 3 more things to fuss over in set up. There's plenty of adjustment with the leg screws and the mariners wheel to get you to a steady position on target.

A good, informative review. Despite its age, I only just now found it, since I have a Mini-X coming in two days. I shoot ARA and ABRA (just over one year experienced), and have been using either 1.) a Shadetree Engineering front joystick rest with 'standard' Protektor simple rear bag, OR 2.) Sinclair F-Class bipod up front with Holeshot or TargetShooting Inc rear mechanical rest. Question: What rear bag(s) work best with the Mini-X?

Does the Mini-X up-down/left-right joystick movement cover the entire ARA or ABRA target at 50 yards without manually moving rear rest or the Mini-X?

Hi, based on your Review I bought a Mini X - this was to compete in 'Small Bore Bench Rest'! I had great expectations...A New Anschutz 2013 BR + the Mini X + a new SEB rear rest. All was well until I inspected my Rifle the front Stop buttons had damaged my Rifle. Further inspection revealed the front stop only accommodated a 3" wide Stock. All correspondence with Seb has resulted in ZERO...he doesn't accept the standard Anschutz measures 2.75"...and advises custom components will be at my expense - his primary market is F class, and assumes no responsibility. I'm asking you to revisit this review and include the World's most respected Factory-built BR Rifle. Thank you in anticipation... Ian Allanach Australia!

Where did you find f-class feet for a mini? I didn't find anything at Seb USA site.

Fair review John, I've got a Mini with all the Bryan Blake mods which really transform it. In a fully specced out package, I prefer it over the Mini X as I prefer the sandbag setup Bryan has come up with. Still, it's not perfect which is why I just dropped the hammer on a T-Rex which looks like the best thought out set-up out there at the moment.

Thank you. I think you're gonna love the T-Rex too. I've really enjoyed mine.

@kriswilson5400 how does Bryan’s mods transform the mini? How are those mods superior to the mini X?
@kriswilson5400 Жыл бұрын
@@shooterreadyschannel9254 Better stability and I found the side bag system and feet to be a superior design to the Mini-X when compared to a friend's. I found my rifle tracked better. Just my opinion though, your's may differ.

@@kriswilson5400based on your feedback, i purchased a Mini upgraded with all Bryan Blake mods. I’m in LOVE!!! I can’t believe a rest can be so sturdy, versatile, yet simple to manipulate! Hope to get it to the range soon!

For someone who does mostly field shooting and hunting off of bipod and bags would this be beneficial for load development? Or would the change in front rest platform affect the rifle too much and cause a change in harmonics when going from a mini to say a backpack stuffed with sweatshirt?

I don’t personally have enough experience with field shooting to say, however guys I shoot with always say you can never test under ‘too perfect’ of a condition no matter what you end up shooting off of in the field.

I'm new to the 22lr bench rest game. I recently attended a match and most were shooting off plates. I'm not going there. I need a rest that I can use at home for load development, scope sighting in, and practice. I recently learned on the SEB Mini in a Vudoo video. Upon research of the Mini, I find your video. As a subscriber, I some how missed this one. Decisions, decisions.

If you’re not picky, there’s people selling off their old Minis to get the X so may find a deal.

Excellent overview as always John! Question; Does the mini-x Neo head swivel?
@FClassJohn Жыл бұрын
It swivels for alignment purposes but once you lock it down it doesn't. Meaning there's no way to reasonably shoot the MiniX with a floating head like the Rodzilla or NeoX
@shooterreadyschannel9254 Жыл бұрын
@@FClassJohn Thanks for clarifying. I’m a bit confused. Wouldn’t you want the whole thing locked down whilst shooting? Would think a floating head could introduce errors? Sorry, i’m new to all this.
@FClassJohn Жыл бұрын
@@shooterreadyschannel9254 Not necessarily. Keep in mind your rear bag is helping to keep the gun tracking front to back and honestly you really don't even notice the head is floating when using one.
