So. The car is brought down? Does the compressor automatically add air to the strut before it is brought down? Did you have to start the engine while it was up in the lift? Were the struts filled with air before installation? I’m confused. Sorry

Yes the compressor will add the air, turn it on before lowering the car to allow it to fill up and then put it down. The air struts come full, so you must depressurize them before you take it off and put it back on.

Any re-programming required in mercedes diagnostic equipment post re-install? Is disconnecting the battery recommended to prevent any inadvertent self levelling behaviour from the car whilst working on it? Side note - is this part the exact same OE part that was fitted to the car originally? I think Bilstein may have been the OE part manufacturer of these struts but I'm not 100% sure - just weighing up the differences in buying these vs from Mercedes (when they come back into stock...)

the yellow mark identifies which airline is which at the valve distribution block mounted above air pump on drivers front side. Each air line has a different color mark to make easy identifying. Hope that helps.
