Porsche 987 Cayman Air Oil Separator Replacement DIY (2006-2008 Porsche 987.1 Cayman)

►One of the more serious but common faults with the first generation of 987 models lies with the Air Oil Separator. The AOS functions like a PCV system, pulling crankcase pressure through the intake and returning the oil vapor to the pan. However, it isn't the most robust and will eventually need replacement.
The AOS is located down in the engine bay atop one of the heads. When it fails, you'll get a large puff of blue smoke out of the exhaust and some lingering blue smoke during warm-up. That's because the diaphragm within the AOS has ripped and is letting excess oil into the intake tract. Fortunately, for 987.2 owners, Porsche did away with the AOS, so this job is strictly for the earlier 987.1 models from 2006-2008.

Is it possible to attach the hose to the AOS first and then loosely install the clamp on the other side, then sliding up once fitted? Seems like it would be easier but not sure if im missing something. Going through this job right now
