I did mine differently. instead of 2 orings on a single side I added 1 inside the shock and 1 outside (not 2) where you were describing in the vid. so far so good
@TheShopMiniRC2 жыл бұрын
The one you added to the inside of the shock will just end up at the top of the shock shaft as the shock compresses. It will not stay tight down at the bottom of the barrel where oil will leak out. We did this at first but thought the double o-ring inside the cap might be better. I guess while the shock is fully extended the o-ring will help seal the inside of the barrel but again, as it compresses, it will stay at the top of the shaft. I went ahead and added a note about this in the video description as what you point out may also work for some. We haven't seen any leakage yet, but if it does, we will switch. Let me know if you see anything leak on yours.

@@TheShopMiniRC yeah...when I was doing it, I took a total guess at how it was supposed to go lol just seemed strange to have 8 tiny rings.

Just did this on mine yesterday. Took a bit longer than 15 minutes, but was also replacing my lower links at the same time. Huge difference driving, much smoother bouncing down rocks.

The bag comes with 4 metal washers, what are they for?

Hmm actually not sure. Maybe spacers of some kind?

I'm still pretty new to 24th scale crawlers/bashers but I sure am glad I joined the hobby at the time of all these oil filled options on the market. Since going oil filled I don't think I'd be able to go back to friction. I have the Injora 39mm oil shocks on my scx24 based bouncer and they've been working great. Their springs are too stiff and didn't dampen enough for my crawler but they've be performing great for bashing. Which motor do you have in that MS? I've been looking around for decent and cheap 3s capable 130/180 motors to mess around with.

For sure!! It’s a great time. This monster truck is literally a box stock FCX24. We haven’t messed much with 3s brushed motors.

@@TheShopMiniRC I had a 130 motor that came with a bangood special 1/28 drift that I ran in my SCX on 3s and that thing really got moving. Motor got a bit hot but wasn't too bad. I'm trying 3s on a Rocket 1410 right now to see how long it lasts lol

I put the o’ring on the bottom and inside of the cap on my Hot Racing shocks. Dropped from a foot it doesn’t bounce at all with 40wt Losi.

How's that motor compared to the FMS Speed motor?
@TheShopMiniRC2 жыл бұрын
We haven’t tried the speed motor yet but I hear that the speed motor has just a little more pep.

Is olive oil viable??
@TheShopMiniRC Жыл бұрын
You can, just be aware the the temperature will affect its viscosity a lot. If it’s cold it’s going to thicken up.

Used to be more like that until RTR's came along...
