Here in Australia illegals are not released into the community while their cases are determined. They are held in detention. Also not being in possession of a passport does not prevent deportation. They are taken out by government charter and do not need a travel document. 90% of illegals are from the subcontinent and China. They are not hard to detect. You simply cannot live in Australia without having a MyGov account. You get that when your visa allows you to live, study or work. You cannot be paid in cash, only into a domestic bank account electronically. You cannot open a bank account without a tax file number which is linked to your MyGov account. So is your Medicare status. Even trying to get a drivers license or rent a flat is impossible. Its all linked and its impossible to avoid. If you are deported as an illegal, you can never apply to come here again, not can any member of your family. For this reason, the number illegals plummeted.

Here in the US, we release tens and thousands into the communities every month with notices to appear, voluntarily, with dates as far as 10 to 15 YEARS in the future. They can vote with a mail-in ballot and receive government benefits, too. Citizenship means nothing here anymore.

Yes, but Australia has been having its 1908 'Whites only' immigration law, or framework of it still in place. So the strictness is due to that policy, although its been watered down since the earloy 70's, elements of it are still in place. I have worked in immigration, and with todays technology it is easily possible to get fingerprints and eye identification read at the point of arrival. That alone would reduce the chance of illegals claiming to have suddenly lost their passports, as a copy would be in the system and their embassy/high commision can be called to provide one way travel documents. And if at the point of arrival they presented themselves with a fake passport then all it would take is a 5-10 minute interview and the game would be over, and as they would be on airside, deportation back to their departure point could be effected easily. All this fiasco that you see here has got nothing to do with the will of the people, its more to do with those in the corridors of power. And they have been playing the immigration card for decades. The British gov't like this, for one it shows that they are a very 'democratic and fair'nation that so many want to come to its shores. The French are doing the same on their side.

The UK is pretty behind modern immigration laws. In the United States, secure chartered flights are required for repeat immigration offenders, in which they are escorted by I.C.E officers. The issue is their home country won't accept extradition/repatration orders without proper documentation proving they are that country's nationals.

The pain and anxiety that I went through with my UK visa process. Submitting my credentials and writing the IELTS etc. Literally had to earn it. As a business owner myself, I have a very firm stance on this. I own many businesses and need labor. If legal people are too lazy and unwilling to work and would rather just eat off of government subsides then what am I supposed to do. I would much rather hire legal citizens and pay them checks and get it written off in taxes. When you pay illegal immigrants in cash then you lose that much to taxes. Trust me, this is something business owners don’t want. These immigrants are hardworking people who are trying to make a living in an alien country. There are sometimes when you can’t find any employees at all and you have two options, shut your business down or hire the only labor available. When you get these two options, then it doesn’t take a genius to decide the best option when you know the fact that you have the same expenses whether your business is open or closed. I pay more taxes than 99.9% of the population and it hurts to see capable people feeding off of unemployment funded by those taxes. This has to stop.

Why doesn't England update its right to stay laws? If a person can't provide a visa, passport and refuses to identify themselves then fingerprint them. If it's found they have no legal documents or verified residence then deport them within 48 hours.

I am indian medical student applying for US, indian documents and degrees don’t matter here. We medical students have to crack 4 steps of USMLE and do significant research and clinical work in US hospitals, it take lots of money and time for that. And after all this, there is less then 20% chance that we will get admission. Bcoz US takes only best of best indian doctor based on their strict selection policy.

I have lived in Perth as a foreign student !!!!! For five years I renewed my visa annually and had a work permit through the uni!!! All that queing, at croydon and job center ....... And all I realise now I ever have to do was loose my documents, and my memory !!!!!! And I've also been in Southall...buying a suitcase maybe on the ground floor to sharmers house !!!! Should have just popped upstairs and just, got all I needed in a one stop shop !!!!! But I guess dining at holloway road or wormwood scrubs, on her majesties pleasure was not in my cards.....!!!! I just came back home to africa 🌍 ,but can pop in an out of the European continent on a humble third world country passport!!! It has a nice hologram on one page though..... It is called a shenghen visa, and it was the easiest thing ,to have ever had !!!!! Go figure !!!!!
