This map is quite fun to plan. Once again there are 2 phases. The second phase will fill your engage meter, so there's no need to hold back during the first one.
There are a couple of ways you can destroy the 1st Sombron. However, the more important objective is to set up your units in quite a peculiar way so that they would be in a designated position for a quick second phase. To make this positioning easier, I choose to entrap Sombron, then configure my units while having a blast... blasting Sombron. Hitrate against Sombron seems sus, but thanks to Divine Pulse+ and Hortensia's vast base luck, the actual chance of success is around 85%. After that, Sombron is free.
The second phase is more interesting, because I need to destroy preferrably 4 minibosses before tackling on tentacle Sombron. Each one of them aren't difficult to kill. If you use the respective Emblem, then even 0% growth meh units can pack serious damage, e.g. Celine. However, additional healthbar requires higher benchmarks to ORKO bosses. Veld is a mounted unit, so I use my trusty Poleaxe to bonk him. Duma is an armor knight, so I stack Ivy up and roast him after hex. Julius is the bulkiest one, even killing him via Triangle Adept is difficult. I use Eirika because everyone here is corrupted. Medeus is a weird one, because his base def & res are so low that even Alear can do damage. He's the best target for Alear to trigger Attuned for more stats.
Tentacle Sombron is quite easy to kill, although most methods will rely on the 13rd Emblem. Base Veyle's high magic allows her to beat up her deadbeat dad at ease. Her bulk is problematic, however. You can have her inherit Alacrity and Sombron won't even get to act, or in this case, I stack triple Quality Times to give her a hidden 20HP bonus. Alear's friendship beam is stupidly strong, thanks to high Mt weapon and dragon class.
That's the end of Engage's LTC. I hope everyone has a good time watching this and appreciate Engage's overall good design. I'm content with this run, but there are improvements I'd like to make someday. Namely, not using every staff while the turn floor has yet to reach is quite an embarrasment. Another one is to upgrade my potato to get rid of the stuttering.
I have another project in mind with a funny bs armor knight, but I hope I have more time to get around this.
