Great explanation of Confidence Intervals (with the "s" lol) Definitely helps a lot to prepare for my FE. Picked the Casio 991EX and love it compared to HP33 I used in the past. Thank you so much for your videos

thanks - the calculator you are using in this video is allowed in the FE exam right? seems like there is no written (Fx 991 or Fx 115) on it. also, please if you leave a link for the same calculator. thanks again.

I was reviewing a similar question to the last one you posted. My question read "The water content of a soil volume is measured four times gravimetrically by oven drying. The mean value of the water content is 23.2%. If the standard deviation of the four measurements is 1.0%, the 99% confidence interval for the soil water content is most nearly" A (18.6%, 27.8%) B (19.5%, 26.9%) C (20.6%, 25.8%) D (20.9%, 25.5%) I did it like the one you taught giving me D but the answer is actually A. It was done by only adding 4.604 aka the T alpha/2 to the mean (23.2%) i don't understand how these two problems should be done differently?

Good question.These options (A to D) are wrong, and 4.604 should be 5.841 because v = (n-1) = 3. Check the errata in this link : ncees.org/wp-content/uploads/FE-Civil_Errata_97-1.pdf

Thank you! Unfortunately, I don't use the TI-36X calculator. If you don't find what you are looking for by typing "TI-36X unit vector" on youtube, you will surely find this information in the calculator manual, generally available online (the company website).

you divide cross product by its normal magnitude [Ans] / norm([Ans]) = unit vector

you would do the same steps he did in the beginning ( inputting his datas for both vectors) Since fx115es does not have the Unit vector function, you would input (VecA x VecB )/ Abs(VecA x VectB)

For Q12, why the FE book has a similar example but they ignored the part S/root4. Do you know why? Thanks

Do you mean, the FE practice exam? That was an error and they corrected it, you need to check the errata on the NCEES website.

For the difference between 2 means, apply the same principle but choose the formula for the difference : 1. Step one : decide wether the standard déviation is known or not (I showed you the methode in the video) 2. Step 2 : choose the appropriate formula for the difference betwwen two means, based on step 1. 3. Step 3 : calculate Z or t(student distribution) as decribed in the video. 4. Step 4 : plug and chag. I will do an example about this.
