Y'all. If you read the epilogue, it says that they meet again after a few months of him being gone. There was conflict and then Claude, the King of Almyra, came to save the new Kingdom. I find the fact that he wanted to see a new dawn with Byleth is sweet and sincere. He proposed to her. He flat out said he'd never let her go.

Honestly that's great an all in a justice sense but to me it wasn't romantic at all. I wanted to see written in the textbooks that they loved each other very much and had many kids. In the Lysenthia epilogue, he leaves the throne for her and they go onto adventure together. And with the other characters it is mentioned that he does have kids. This ending and the epilogue seemed cold and political. I think what saved it was the fact that he said I love you, otherwise I wouldn't have called it a S support ending.

@@mariichyuu I won't lie, it took me two golden deer playthroughs until I could read between the lines. At first I was disappointed because it felt empty, but on my second playthrough I tried to take Claude's personality into play while watching the support rank cutscenes with female Byleth. In between the lines, he seems to grow a fondness for leading the way to a new future with Byleth. - However, as I said before I completely and totally get everyone's pov. This might just be me trying to romanticize my intake of the playthrough lol.

I am I the only one that thinks this by far the most realistic S Support. I love the whole 'Let's be together forever' and all but I adore the fact that they took their time and are willing to wait, to grow more and finish what they need to do. And when the time comes and they still love each other, that's when they get together. Just my opinion of course. I would have wanted the Byleth/Claude ending to be a bit more explicitly that they do get together in the end rather than unite their two nations...

I think it's pretty heavily implied they ultimately get together. He says he'll come back after he achieves his dream, and he does as the king Almyra, bringing a new age of unity when he returns. Y'know, when Claude actually said "I love you. With everything I am." I started to cry. I picked Golden Deer mainly because it looked the most appealing to me, and from what I had seen from Claude, I had loved. But as the story progressed and I continued to watch supports I got more and more invested. And when he finally said those words, the immense amount of satisfaction I felt was unreal. I love this game and I love this character.

I get you, I had to pick Golden Deer because of Claude, if I picked any other house first, I would feel like I'm betraying him, It was even hard for me to stara a Blue Lions playthrough, because I just had this sort of attachment to him and the Golden Deer, I am going to start a new GD run soon, just because well, I missed him, when I got the merchants, I even bought FIVE of his favorite tea, in hopes we'd be able to have tea time together. I love one man and one mn only and his name is Khalid von Riegan! He also just feels very, relatable as a character. I not only am going to be doing a GD run through, but also CF so when bad things happen, I can just return safely to my babies who are precious and perfect in every single way shape and form even possible, and even the impossible ways shapes and forms too! I LOVE THEM ALL MORE THAN I LOVE MY MOTHER!I LOVE THEM WITH EVERYTHING I AM!

I don't understand why people say his S-support isn't romantic, to me Claude genuinly loves FByleth (and he should love Mbyleth too) During his support, he says that he will come back and he does only few months after leaving Fodlan. He comes just too see Byleth (and he saves her because of the good timing). He's the one who gives the ring so I don't see why he would not marry her. Plus in the text in the credits, it is said that Fodlan and Almyrian have been unified. This word clearly implies that a marriage took place. To me, this support is both realistic and romantic. If Claude does'nt leave, a war may start between Fodlan and Almyria so he had to leave but his comeback shows that he was genuine about loving Byleth and wanting to see her again as soon as possible. Plus the idea of wanting to achieve his goal with her and not alone is really sweet, considering that he has been alone his entiere life, it's a really beautiful conclusion to his growth as a character. I know people also feel like he's the only lord who doesn't seem in love with Byleth during his route but I think he was too. I can"t proove it because it would need me to do the game again and try to confirm if the hints I had about him loving Byleth were reliable or not, but his A-support feels like a pre-S support where he says that he wanna build his dream with Byleth (and I think it's romantic) and how he feels able to accomplish them thanks to Byleth. I also remember the sentence he says when he's injuried in battle : "I'm hurt but i'm with you". To me, this faith he has in Byleth proves that he is genuinely in love with her during Verdant Wind. I'm a little bit disappointed because when I read forums after my Golden Deer run, all the posts I saw were stating that he's the only lord who doesn't love Byleth and that his S-support is not romantic. Not MByleth because that's gay, and Claude is the epitome of "no homo". The mention of Fodlan and Almyra being unified aren't there in Japanese, and his line "I'm hurt but I'm with you" in Japanese is just something along the lines of "It'll be difficult if I lose anymore blood" (bonus!: he doesn't say "I love you" in Japanese either). Probably the reason most people think he's rather platonic compared to the other 2 lords is because he IS. Edelgard has her "uwu sensei" flustered moments and Dimitri tells you how warm your hands are (MByleth wears gloves lol). Either way, I'm with you on the A support. The end of it feels like it was ripped straight out of an otome game.

I am a fan of the Byleth/Claude pairing precisely because it feels less overtly romantic. Byleth doesn't become Claude's therapist (like with Dimitri and Edelgard to an extent) but they help him grow as a character nonetheless. His "confession" at the end of part 1 and his reaction to their reunion in part 2 cements how their relationship is not one of "teacher/student" but one of that between peers and friends. I can appreciate a romance that forms out of a friendship. I don't get the awkward "I was once your teacher" vibe out of this relationship that I get with the By/Edel and By/Dimi because Claude, while he had his issues (lack of trust in others, his "mask", etc), was never so emotionally dependent on Byleth as an authority figure. This gave their relationship much more equal dynamics.

MY ONLY PROBLEM IS WE NEVER SAW BLYETH GIVE CLAUDE HER RING, otherwise I love the The realism so Claude can go tie up his lose ends cause honestly if you keep him with you he will have regrets and you won’t let him be his own person, he came to Fódlan for Almyra and then set his goals higher. So I’d rather not chain him down. The smile he’ll have saying “just look at what I’ve accomplished” when he came back as the King of Almyra to defend against the rising remnants made it all worth it even if he was gone for a while, if you love them you’ll let them go. Love this support❤️

I think the real difference between Claude and the rest leader support was that he's the only one who talking about his dream and byleth be the only person who willing to listen about his dream. And later he's curious about her more as she's willing to listen about his personal dream. Later on they found similarities between them and grow closer, that he usually not as open as the other about his feelings can actually act on it. They shared their dream and as much as it's not voiced, the action felt real. He end up brave enough to hug her. There's not much lines there, but it's only a beginning. Edelgard and Dimitri stories are all about ending things and so their stories are about the end of the whole suffering But when it's with Claude, we end up starting something and new things are just beginning. (Now I need the sequel of their stories argh!)

Wowowow I love their S-Support so much. It's not only the end of something, but the beginning of something way bigger. Also the S-Support image implies that Byleth is ... shedding tears? I watched way too many animes to know how they would have hugged if they were happy! His route just felt so incomplete, I want to see Byleth doing the coronation ceremony, I want to see Byleth wearing the ring Claude gave them, I want to see Claude coming back for them, I want to see them meeting Claude's parents, I want to see Claude introducing Byleth as his fiancè to his parents, I want to see their reaction when they find out Claude's real name is Khalid, I want to watch them plan their wedding, I want to see them get married, I want to see them with their kids, I want to see their life together! They could have done so much more with his route and yet, they didn't.

Okay, I'm definitely going S-Ranked with Claude. This may sound silly, but it remind me of Barbie: Princess and The Pauper. In which, Erica decided to follow her dream, and then decide to marry Domenic once she fullfill her dream to become a singer and travel the world. Kinda like Claude doing with Byleth. First he need to go back to homeland to become a peaceful land, and then return to Byleth. At least that how I imagine. Always enjoy stuff that have familiarity to my childhood like this one.

I have to say - i watched most of the S-Supports (I am never going to play as Male Byleth, so that felt okay). and I know there were always going to be some units that would be on the bench for me (Lorenz - even though his S-Support was great). but the first playthrough I had- I picked Claude (it was so tough because i had S-Support unlocked with Felix/Sylvain, but it was the Goddess Tower/the A Support that really made me wonder how the S Support would go because unlike most of them - you could truly see where it started to turn from Teacher/Student to respect peers, to (best) Friends, to there is something obviously there. this was the one support where it really felt like they FELL in love. (to the point if i am golden deer, I'm probably always marrying claude). Which is why when he first went he's going to leave - I was like. excuse me what?! but i just love that he couldn't set aside the better good - and he knew if he stayed he would be doing that, but he also promised that he would come back for the woman he loved. - i think this was one of ending photos truly, that instead of a hug - that it had ended in a kiss. that would have just been. Cherry on the top perfect.

I was initially mad because their shared ending is so ambiguous but did his S support set me for a rollercoaster of emotions. As someone who also chose Golden Deer first I agree with you that claude seems to be the least developed lord out of the three. He has so much potential to become an interesting character but all of that went to waste as the story progressed. You learn little about him in his route compared to other house leaders, most of his backstory and development were “tell not show”. And even his own route, except the last two maps, is a copy paste of Silver Snow route which was developed first.

Claude is my favorite but as much I loved him throughout the whole game, I hate that they didn’t explicitly say they got married. I mean, it’s obvious they do, but the last line of their ending should’ve said that. It’s bad enough we have to wait until the literal end of the game to pick our partner. I love how he said he’s come back for her and led the Almyrans to save her and Fódlan, but it should’ve said more. I don’t know, I just felt a little disappointed after all the waiting, you know? I do think they make the best couple (and I can’t get enough of his personality and being utter eye candy 😍)
