I suspect that comes with having lived as a Mercenary for so long, she likely has a better understanding of just how unpredictable and fleeting life can be. So she's much more open and willing to accept her own feelings, and even recognize her own shortcomings and mistakes. And she was also correct with her remark about them having known each other for so long that there really weren't any words that needed to be said between them since they already understood each other so well. But she still acquiesces to Byleth as she realizes that it's important to him.

Basically, by the end of the war you should be allowed to go to supports and activate the S-support you want to have with a person. The game doesn’t prompt you to do it by the end, you have to be the one to initiate it.

How did you only S with 4 people. By the end I had S all the female cast and most of the males and a few of the characters had achieved A between each other. Just make them eat dinner and go on some grinding with the battle system also choir singing builds up a lot of support
