It's weird, I prefer the Japanese version of that particular part (he starts calling her irreplaceable and then just kinda trips over that one word), but the last frame is much better in English ("Thank you, professor" VS "Thank you, my beloved" LIKE ARE YOU KIDDING MEEEEE. The part about her hands clinging to his is not there in the Japanese version either so bleh)

It's basically the parallel situation to male Byleth and Edelgard. Blue Lions path default should be played as female Byleth, while Black Eagles join Edelgard path should be played as male Byleth. Both are like love stories custom made for Dimitri/Edelgard.

Lucirene Fuentes i think the voices and manner of speech between the two languages kinda characterize him differently, so I don’t prefer one voice over another. Though I kinda prefer some of the English lines cuz there were some lines in English that were really romantic but was not present in the Japanese dub.

Fun fact, Chris hackney actually played gohan in short lived english dub of DBS which was produced by bang zoom... I also find it really cute that parts of their dialogue in the actual story connect to their support. Like when you first encounter Dimitri after post time-skip and he's like "Your hands...have they always been this warm?" And then he mentions the hands here again and how warm they are. It's like the supports aren't just supports but they coincide with the story and the S support just becomes the right ending. Plus, he's always disliked fragile things and afraid to touch them. But he mentions how her hands are fragile and how strong they are in a way because those small fragile hands saved him countless times and he's not afraid to hold something so fragile and he wants to hold them forever. I just finished the route yesterday and I fear I won't be able to play the 3 other routes because I'll miss him and don't want to hurt him.

With all those interactions you would believe that the story is builded for their relationship. Aside the handholding, there is also the theme of how Byleth guides him back into the light when Dimitri is in the darkness (there is chapter named like that too). Also the legend, our protag is basically a goddess. In the tower event, he saids that a goddess would never offer her hand which is ironic. There's people thinking that Byleth is Saint Seiros (in the legend) and that Dimitri could be Nemesis/One of the 10 Elites and that's woah.

It was my love for Lucina that got me into Fire Emblem in the first place. I was basically playing super smash Bros on the 3Ds and when I unlocked Lucina. I played her pretty much over and over. And so I researched her and game was Fire Emblem Awakening. And that love pretty much grew to the point where she felt pretty real in my heart. Dimitri definitely has the best character arc in the game, and overall the best route in my opinion in terms of story. Definitely one of the best lords in the series. It just sucks we never tie up the loose ends with TWSITD like with Claude. Makes me want a BL/GD team up route.

Dimitri is my favorite male character in this game (Ingrid being the female favorite), but I don't think he gets enough credit. He watched as his father, his best friend and many allies were ruthlessly slaughtered right in front of him. He watched them die in agony, but felt powerless to help them. This took such a toll on his mental state, especially when he heard his father to avenge them and considering he was 13 at the time. This led to him feeling he was obligated to satisfy the wishes of the dead and to develop a bloodthirsty and brutal side to his personality, one that led Felix to hate him and denounce him as an animal. He presented himself as a goodhearted, cheerful and humble, yet dorky knight who seemed to embody chivalry all the while he was fighting his demons. He doesn't try to justify his bloodlust; in fact, he admits that he's terrified of the depths of it and his trauma. He was genuinely a good man, but he needed support and help. His character arc in the Blue Lions route was amazing. When Byleth meets him again, we can barely recognize him: he's become a ruthless and somewhat sadistic killer who hunts down those he deems monsters, all the while acknowledging that he himself is one. After Rodrigue is killed, he finally realizes that he's gone too far and must learn to stop carrying around the weight of the dead; instead, he must fight for the living. He humbly admits his mistakes, seeks to atone for his sins, and starts to value the lives of others again, including himself. He even feels doubt when the people welcome him back as their King, feeling as though he is unworthy, but because he seeks to atone, he will become a great king. The best moment was honestly the ending. After Edelgard is defeated, Dimitri offers her his hand in peace. She throws the same dagger he had given her years ago at him, forcing him to kill her. Notice how he does: before, he wanted to make her suffer a brutal and agonizing death for starting the war. Instead, it's a simple thrust of his spear; no sadism, no prolonging her suffering, a simple thrust of his spear and she dies. Dimitri, in my opinion, is the best of the three lords because of his realistic issues, great character development, and being a well-written character. The King has returned.

He's my fav too. I really like how he's embodies the ideal prince from fairy tales yet those very same traits take a part on his demise as well. Post-timeskip he's a walking human beast, a fallen prince who views himself as a vessel ready to take down anyone that is in his path of revenge, putting his companions lives at risk with his rushed decisions. After his realization [w/Rodrigue's death] he actually fits the lion king tittle. Growing into a more mature man that takes responsability and seeks to avoid unnecessary conflicts for the sake of others lives, his beliefs pre-timeskip were actually challenged and further developed. (His first character design is like a prince charming and the second a lion, with the cape and long blonde hair = lion mane. He's the blue lion yall)

Black Eagles, Golden Deer, and the Church routes feel like traditional FE games. And while Blue Lions is still like that, I feel it was more about the relationship between Dimitri and Byleth. I came into the game expecting to rush for his S Support like I did in other games, and at first, I was really annoyed that the game made you wait for the S rank. Now that I'm done, I think that making the player wait was an absolutely amazing choice. For Fates and Awakening, it's kind of like "Oh cool they're married now" and that's it, but in Three Houses (or at least for Byleth and Dimitri) it feels like that's what the game has been building up to all along. Dimitri is finally able to forgive himself, and Byleth has gone from never feeling anything to falling in love. They've grown because each other, and unlike Chrom x Robin which feels pretty forced, this actually felt so natural and smooth. Hands down the best ending in the series. EDIT: Another fun detail, Jeralt and Dimitri both loved seeing their significant others smile. It's a cute little parallel, and I wish more people talked about it because jffjfjfjfjjf it's so cute

I wholeheartedly agree about Blue Lions really being about Byleth and Dimitri's relationship. I think it's great for both of their character development. I also agree even as a shipping nut, waiting until the end for marriage is perfect here and it just makes sense for them to end up together. I had forgotten about that tidbit with Jeralt and only just remembered since I'm now replaying as Golden Deer and just saw that line again and ugghh, I love this pairing so much the more people point out these things that I missed (like Dimitri hating fragile things but loving Byleth's fragile hands).

Everything about this support chain feels so natural. Along with certain interactions F!Byleth and Dimitri have throughout his route, their entire relationship seems to develop at a nice pace. How Byleth finds him at the abandoned monestary, how they reconcile him in the rain. As someone who has watched Claude's S Support 999 million times (and i thought that hands down was the perfect example of people becoming just friendly, to friends, to best friends, to falling in love/getting married) - Dimitri was all about "Shall you hold my tea and I will show you how it is done?" Like Claude's - you truly see the development of their romantic relationship right away (even earlier than Claude's). He's almost always concerned for her, when she hurts, he wants to kick ass of anyone who touched a hair on her head. he's taken aback when he first sees her smile, tell a joke (like it's all"well i'm already smitten, but WOW). Every support in his "EMO phase she's basically all I'm here for you, but boy snap out of it, and while he's dismissive to everyone (even tells her he'll kill her), he's almost always..regretful. even in the goddess tower, he's telling his life story,and then goes... "maybe we should promise we'll be together forever." and then there is like this huge pregnant pause and then it's like. haaaa.... ha? I'm kidding? like he totally spoke too soon. NOT to mention - that Byleth is almost always reaching her hand (to his) and he often never takes it,... until the very end (and then in the S support) and it'slike she's his touch stone now and while before he generally destroyed anything fragile (seen in many other C-B supports... he's found the one fragile thing that gives HIM strength... and the strength to protect it completely). Dimtri's (like Claude's) is pitch perfect. I honestly believe thinking about it - Blue Lions Path is the most like Fire Emblem, and I do think that Byleth + Dimitri are canon. (or it is to me anyway LOL). (thoughI still J'adore Claude's. Byleth might be Dimitri's beloved, but Claude loves Byleth with everything that he is. ;) )

You can save Lorenz if you have Byleth defeat him, or so I’ve heard... most other students can be recruited pre-time skip of course (with a few exceptions). Basically, to save as many as possible you need to know everyone’s individual requirements, both for initial recruitment AND to have them on your side... Take Hilda for instance: you cannot recruit her on the baseline Black Eagles route, but if you side with the Church against Edelgard you DO have a limited timeframe to get her; she’s also recruitable on the Blue Lions path. The devs really thought long and hard about how this stuff works on both a micro and macro level. No wonder they delayed the release a full year.

This is my Favorite Husband for female Blythe if I had to choose only one pair. The way how he calls her his beloved after all this time is heartwarming.
