Assalaamo Alleykum Sheikh Muhammad Tim Humble, how beautifully the lecture was presented. It brought a Tear to my eyes and heart. Wish all the British born Muslims girls and guys could follow you to truly appreciate of marriage instead of having a western culture dating mindset. Finally you need to work with these online Muslim marriage applications. They have a social responsibility but they are not adhere to it. It more of a business to them.

May I ask please if the marriage contract asks for no second wife to be taken as a condition, then does that make what is halal haram ? So does that make it invalid, as you spoke of? Does it go against the Quran , and sunnah?

A Muslim husband should not expect his wife to go out and work to provide and maintain the family, it is the role of the man, the husband, the father that Allah has entrusted with. But if she does work providing she works in a place where her expertise is required amongst only women or children, or in an only female work force and not infringing on her intial fundamental core role, responsibilities, duties as a mother, wife....then her money is hers and she does not supplement the husbands wages or contributes to the bills etc. unless she wants to. The husband should not expect that, unless she willing gives something. Likewise, the wife should not expect the husband to help out in the home. Carry out the responsibilities and duties of a wife, a mother. As that is her role Allah has entrusted her with. But if he does sometimes helps out from his own choice, that is good and is mutual cooperation to lighten some responsibility as and whenever. Each role complements each other, not competes and over powers or over burdens each other. This will bring about peace, harmony, respect in the Muslim home.

Wow, a wife should not expect help from her husband in the house? Did you know the wives of the Prophet S.A.W gave water and first aid to soldiers after battles. That was work that was not solely in a women and child environment. Aisha R.A also gave talks on Islam, hence 1/3 of hadith is narrated by her, again not a women/child environment. She also mounted a horse and went to battle. Brother don't pick and choose what you want just because you want to control everything. Accept Islam entirely, enjoy the beautiful rights Allah gives women and the love and compassion they should enjoy with their husband

It’s sunnah to help your wife at home, and she has no obligation to do any cleaning or cooking she can actually request to be recompensed for it. It’s cultural that the roles have become like this. The Prophet SAW used to serve himself, stictch his own clothes, fetch his own milk, and would do a lot more...rather than expecting 5 star service at home by his wife. So dont talk nonsense Akhi. Yes the woman should work in a halal environment with no free mixing but first priority is her home.
