Demanufacture is a banger from start to finish, and the whole thing holds up, what, 26 years later? I HIGHLY recommend just putting this album on while you're out driving around or something. This and Strapping Young Lad's "City" got unfortunately trampled under by more "mainstream" stuff, but hold up better than almost everything else that ventured into this style. Good to see some REALLY heavy stuff on the channel as well. 🤘🤘🤘

I was going to scroll on by until I saw SYL and 'City' mentioned...now I have to give props where it's deserved. The 90's were a dumpster fire for metal music, but what did make it through is pure f'n gold.

I can't believe I'm seeing a fear factory play list, this is awesome!! The lyrics are written through the views of machines and how humans create and mistreat them, for the most part. They wanted to tell a futuristic story every album, and they never got the attention they deserved. Thank you again for these reactions!
@AO968

I'm pretty sure the central theme is how men is being forced to become one with machines at the hands of an increasingly totalitarian government. The story seems to be heavily inspired by the Terminator franchise, along with various sci-fi writers (like Isaac Asimov).

Thank you Jamal for repping Fear Factory. Burton Bell and Dino Cazares. One of the most underrated bands in music lyrically, musically, and sonically. The message, and the soul. Rhythms be fire. Woke👁 Unity makes us stronger. It’s important to realize that our constructed material environment, not nature, is designed for us to hate ourselves and each other, so we are weaker and easier to control. Whereas positivity and love make us stronger. Fear Factory 4 life

Seasons, I Regret, Lost at 22, Other Side of the River, Let's Pretend, Ugly - this band Life of Agony would bring in a LARGE new audience and be a teaching opportunity as their singer Mina Caputo transitioned from his given gender as Keith Caputo, to the female gender she always felt was her true self.) and also Dog Eat Dog (No Fronts, Isims, Pull my finger [not about what you are thinking it's about gun violence], Step Right In) was a wildly unrecognized rap metal band. I see another Industrial Metal fan in the making, Jamal. ; ) When they appeared, Fear Factory tried to be the humanized version of the more mechanical Industrial music, or in other words, they tried to play Metal like machines. And nobody can deny that they succeeded big time. Talk about tightness and precision without leaving out the groove. : ) Like 317!

Check out "Strapping Young Lad" - "Detox". It's a fire! Strapping Young Lad was a Canadian extreme metal band formed by Devin Townsend in Vancouver in 1994

I met this young girl once and ended up banging. In the morning, before work, I was going through her CD's and found the MORTAL COMBAT soundtrack and it had A wonderful song from a band called FF on it. When I started playing it, she got out of bed and sang the words to me. Screwed me, made me a bologna and cheese sammich, then sent me to work where I bought the CD right after. Married now for 23 years...God bless FF!!

Fear Factory is an Industrial Metal band that came out in the mid 90s. One of their singles was on the Mortal Kombat soundtrack (1997) and they gained a lot of popularity after that. This song is off of their debut album Demanfacture (1996). I played the hell out of this album back then.

Their debut was called soul of a new machine. I have it. Not as good as demanufacture, but it does have a couple of gems like scapegoat and scumgrief.

Fear Factory usually has a dystopian theme to their lyrics. When you dive deep into it, it is quite interesting and makes the music more hard hitting.
