Also, as a person with body dysmorphia, seeing her have VERY NORMAL knees and still feeling like they looked fat helped me remember that they literally just look like that and it's pretty much all dependent on the angle you look at them. Even at my lowest weight, my knees still looked basically the same. Knees are just knees and there's no wrong way to have them :P

I feel like knees are easier to get self-conscious about when they're naked because they're just one of those parts of the body that looks a little strange at certain angles. (And by "strange" I just mean that we don't necessarily see that on camera often, so it feels strange once we see it on camera.) It's like an elbow - if you ever see someone with their arm perfectly straight, their elbow will usually have that little fold of skin that isn't necessarily perfectly picturesque - but it's also so normal that if it ends up in a pic, no one would even think about it except the person who feels embarrassed their arm got caught on camera at that angle

I am diagnosed with BDD so of course I also understand QT's issue here (to a certain degree, anyway... I would argue that it's sort of brain dead to wear something that you don't want to be seen in on camera when you know you're going to be on camera and then to complain about it? Idk, perhaps I'm different in how my BDD manifests but I am very much covered up and can't help but deliberately style myself in a way to hide the areas that my mind makes me see as "problem areas" even if they're totally normal) That being said... people hold fat differently around their knees (and ankles for that matter). Even when I was overweight I had knees that looked much thinner than hers, she just carries more fat in her knees than I've personally seen in anyone irl even when taking into account how she is sitting. That's a little bit strange to me just because I've not personally seen it before, so I totally understand why she's self conscious (still don't really understand why she'd wear something that showcases her knees if she hates them though...) The closest thing that I have to being this stupid about it is being self conscious about my hands that often swell due to a condition that I have (obviously I can't help that this happens and it makes my fingers look fatter than they usually are which obviously triggers my dysmorphia) but the only way to hide that would be to wear gloves 24/7 which would get in the way of almost everything in my life whilst also making my hands look bigger because of more fabric lolol

(the same way that some people have "skinny" wrists regardless of if they're underweight, overweight, or actually in the healthy range - it's a "weird" spot for fat, same for any other joint really. I know someone who is obese that has wrists almost as skinny as mine even though I am in the healthy weight range (same height as I am which makes us more comperable). Bodies are super fucking interesting in how varied they are. )

I think I have the worst costume beat. I was a baby twink that decided to be a slutty tinman from the Wizard of Oz. Ran out of silver makeup, planned on only wearing gold gogo shorts and gold and silver disco shoes with an oil cap I sprayed painted and glittered gold. Frantically searched for a Walmart on the way to the club in the middle of the night that sold silver tights. Ran in there with my junk threatening to fall out. Everything was fine until 5 minutes after arrival. Except people kept touching me all night. The only bit of makeup left on my body after all the touching was like half my face. To the people I made out with, I sincerely apologize. To the bar owners that had latex body paint clogging up their sinks that caused a plumbing issue and had the club shut down for two weeks, the statute of limitation has since passed 😎
