I have a two year old Terrier who has now been introduced to 3 cats. My co-worker lost her home and I moved her into my downstairs bedroom along with her cats. My dog mac and the cats are now best friends. Lots of chasing at first but once they settled in they are all now inseparable. The funny part is the most skittish of the cats is now the closest pal to my dog.

Amazing how gentle and patient both Candi and Bobi are with the adorable kittens! Quite unusual that the tiny kittens would be so comfortable interacting with these two very large dogs. Just goes to show the calm and welcoming energy both the Golden Retriever and the Husky project outwardly to the kittens . The interactions between the kittens and their large canine companions, was quite heartwarming to watch. Seeing how calm and relaxed the mama cst was as she walked by, speaks volumes as to how amazing the Husky and Golden Retriever both are! Thanks for sharing this wonderful story about unconditional love, compassion, patience and empathy, with all of us!

I have a horse farm and all of my animals are rescues. My entire life I have been blessed with animals, and they always found me. I never looked for one. All of my older animals take in younger ones like their own and nurture them. I even had one dog lactate for another puppy that was not hers. And she had never had puppies of her own.

I don't think I've ever seen a group of dogs more well-behaved around little ones than these three! Often I see dogs that mean well, but tend to underestimate their own strength and are just a little too clumsy in their excitement. But these doggos are so sweet and gentle! They seem so content just observing and sniffing, like true gentle giants and guardians. You should be very proud of raising such obedient dogs 🤗

Bobi reminds me of our husky, Loki. He came into our home as a puppy and found it not only full of cats, but that our border collie incessantly doted on them. The next time a kitten showed up (which we had to dig out of the wall), he decided it was his turn, and adopted the little guy, playing with him, washing him and napping with him. They're still friends.

You'll often find similar behaviours on most large dogs when meeting pups or smaller breeds, too: the dog understands that the little one can't handle its roughousing, so it just behaves patiently and lets the little one be the one who plays. A fun thing's when you have a medium-sized dog meet small and bigger ones: it'll usually switch between being "the puppy" and "the parent", depending who it's meeting... This is, ofc, with dogs who're accustomed to meeting and interacting with other animals. It really IS good for them to be able to socialize in a safe environment.

My husky, who's also my service dog, is very much like this, too. I joke that she has a "reverse prey drive," because she absolutely adores smaller animals. She's even managed to make friends with the wild swamp rabbits that live outside my home, able to approach and sniff them, they only run away when I approach. She's raised 5 kittens now, one of which was blind & deaf in one ear. I affectionately call her "Momma Moro," as not only does she take care of me, but any animal. I suspect that she knows she's spayed and cannot have puppies, so things like cats are a perfect substitute for her motherly instincts. I've had multiple huskies, too, and somehow cats just immediately *know* that she's friendly and safe to be around. Poor Moro though, has to deal with those sharp kitten claws as they knead into her side 😹

My huskys first encounter with a kitten was hilarious. He just sat there gave it the occasional sniff. But was just more confused and curious. Eventually he just laid down. Watching. The kitten then swatted his nose. There was this hilarious delayed reaction where you could see him trying to process having his nose swatted. He sits up looks at me and barks then breaks into full on husky speak. Oh we got an earbfull. The kitten just ran away.
