A graven, barren, broken tomb Resides where once delicate orchids bloomed No revocation for the damned Cursed temptations ground to sand Like a scornful, lustful breed Dehumanizing virtue for your novelty Serenade with a swollen tongue Let no elegy be sung I am the deep shade of jaded Will I burn down your fortress of lies? Six fucking years I have waited To fucking cut you out of my life No turning back I’ve finally let you go and left the past to die This is my resignation from All that we’ve loved and left behind Now I’ll leave it behind A portrait of torture we paint Beguiling allure whilst adorned in lace Eternally the porcelain cracks A fatal passion forged in black Like a creature of oddity A captivating vessel of aesthetic beauty Dressed in blood to provoke collapse A fatal heart preserved in wax I’ve finally let you go and left the past to die This is my resignation from All that we’ve loved and left behind In the grave you dug for me A frame of bones reside The flesh has burnt to embers My muse, this is my last goodbye Spit you out Your beauty is bullshit I was just a corpse you saw fit to drag around Now your hold on me’s broken But heaven knows I’m miserable now No longer your ashtray To dispose of inside Fuck your pretty face This is finally goodbye I am not your fucking puppet I’ve finally let you go and left the past to die This is my resignation from All that we’ve loved and left behind In the grave you dug for me A frame of bones reside Six years I’ve pissed away It ends right here - you’re dead to me Goodbye

+Epica124 wow such elitism. 0:12 to 0:44 sounds quite like black metal. just because this song is played by motionless in white, a "core" band, doesn't mean it cannot have any black metal sounds in it, especially when it features dani filth from cradle of filth. . PS: I consider metalcore/deathcore metal btw I just say they're a "core" band because that's the term that most "true metalheads" use to refer to bands with deathcore/metalcore genre. MIW is metal.

Well, I feel like an asshole music hipster. I was thinking, "Oh my god, Motionless in White? One of those new-breed whiny emo shit-core bands? Why would Dani collaborate with that?" And then I listened to the track. Honestly, this track is so fucking tight. Such a fluid mix of trademark Cradle black-thrash hybrid, and the new style of metalcore that's common today. Dani clearly has still got it. His sections sounded like they were ripped straight out of Midian. Well done. I was caught off guard with this. This is actually the first Motionless in White song I've ever listened to, and I wish them the best.

No, it shows he's raping his own legacy. He used to despise metalcore and the like (very openly) and now he's collaborating. He's only been around for the money lately, helming every project of his under the 'CoF' banner without bandmates making any money from it. Ditching two guitarists of which one under false reasons, etc. Meh, Dani's been way off last few years!

But look at Chris' lyrics in Puppets 2: "A midnight breeze of chilled unease, when we began amiss. The taunting scent of autumn makes a scornful heart resist. A longing bliss in carnal stints of thighs gracing betwixt your hips. The harvest moon drapes aloft these graven, tattered crypts. Please, just let me let you go. And kiss this life from my lips. To show me a love not even death can resist." Chris really can write, I think it's his lyrics. Either way COF have some amazing lyrics.

Lets lay some shit down right now. QUOTING CHRIS: "If you change people get mad and if you stay the same they get mad. It's a lose-lose situation." All of you need to understand that this is the evolution of Motionless in White as a band and need to crawl out of your shells of kainotophobia and accept that. Once you begin to notice how the band has grown then you will see even more beauty in the song. I love the song and though the Puppets trilogy was a bit repetitive, Motionless in White completed it in the best way possible; not to mention it featuring Dani Filth. You guys need to realize, even if you don't like Cradle of filth, this man is the frontman for the MOST POPULAR ENGLISH METAL BAND SINSE IRON MAIDEN. He has absolutely insane vocals and he is an insane person and he fits together perfectly with Chris. Once you look deeper into the song you will see how great it really is. I am beyond impressed by the new album so far and am overjoyed by this song.

I came to know of MIW since Infamous and so I went back to Creatures and WLMD etc, so can anybody tell me if there's a story behind the Puppets trilogy? Because I feel that it was probably one of the band members that had an ex who impacted his life in many ways. So anyone, please?
@MrBjoc10 жыл бұрын
I think it is about an ex and I'm almost positive the band member is Chris because the other day he released like a statement either on his twitter or Instagram I think I can't remember where I saw it but it was along the lines of I've finally been able to rest these seven years of my life to rest with this song

MrBjoc thank you so much. See this is why I love MIW, they made a bad moment of Chris' life into 3 songs I would call a masterpiece c:

Chris had a thing with a girl named Charlie since high school I believe. That's all he's ever really said about it.

I like it a lot actually and I give the whole band credit to all the hard work they did. I'm not crazy about dani but to chris, ricky and the rest of em, keep doing what doing. \m/
