there is someone hiding in the RV bathroom after the diner, if you close the door when you go into the diner it will be open when you come out and the bathroom is "jammed"😂

All Fears to Fathom episodes have bee great so far, I really like the outdoors setting of the game and this one has a lot of interaction and yet again great atmosphere. With the amount of stuff to do this could have easily been spanned out into a longer game if the dev had wanted to. But I guess short and sweet is their style 🙂

This and Episode 2 are my favourites so far. A couple of things you missed: 1. The wacky training video for new employees on the computer, voiced by Jacksepticeye. 2. There is a suspicious guy in the diner with a shovel, and when you leave the diner you can see he's already gone. When you return to your RV, the door is open (you didn't notice that because you left it open yourself in the first place), and when you go check the bathroom in the RV, the protagonist says "the door was strangely jammed". You can't do anything about it, and you leave the place with this creepy feeling that the guy is there hiding in your RV... One small criticism about the game: when you're running away from the cultist at the end, and you hide in the porta-potty, the game shouldn't let you get away with it, because that porta-potty is the first thing anyone chasing you would check. Apart from this, I think it's one of the more structurally solid episodes of the series so far. Cheers! //Rick

There's something amazing with this 'cozy retro horror' genre that is so special and attractive. The cozy part is really important - stuff like diners, long drives, sunsets, camping, convenience stores, home chores etc... In this case it was the best part really. Little things like the RV interactivity. The horror aspect was pretty weak in this one (both in terms of story and fear), beyond the guy creeping around outside of the tower at night. But I feel like the genre need that horror aspect for some reason. Maybe it's what keeps us engaged and on our toes.

We don't have fire watch stations in my country. They have a great vibe about them, up on stilts amongst the trees. A mix of safety and isolation, almost like a lighthouse. More games should have fire watch stations.

I thought the fact that your character had to throw everything they set down was funny, but I completely LOST IT when interacting with the fridge and the food. If my co-workers were around I'd have had to step outside.

Mine was when he directly hit the dude in a mask with the bear spray and it did nothing! 😂 It would have made more sense if it was some unknown or supernatural being! But a dude in a fancy hat would definitely go down with a bear spray hit like that!

Hey! You're driving GREA...uh, nevermind. 😅 Your aim in the bathroom was _impeccable,_ though! 🚽😆 This episode was another good one. Nicely detailed paranoia-inducing atmosphere. Reminiscent of Firewatch for sure, but I wasn't mad at it. And, CJU's random, ineffectual bear spray squirts and refrigerator rampage had me belly laughing.🤣 I do wish the game wasn't so linear--there was so much fodder for exploration, more interaction, and many more scares. Still, a big 👍.

Bruh! So like, this one kinda hurts the suspension of disbelief, but IMAGINE if after the end text you talk about the picture you took (Which is oddly forgotten) And to REALLY crank up the creep in this game they went out and got a real photo recreating what you took in the picture. That would have been legendary. Just going out into the woods and not even having to be on a firewatch tower, just somewhere higher up and got a photo with some friends dressed all creepy standing in a similar formation and replaced the photo you took, with the real life one. All I'm sayin' is they need to make an update and add that.

I love how, much as with Chilla's, it mixes in routine and repetition with things that terrifyingly stand out to make it all *wrong*. Great reactions from you too, as always.

The computer and the OS for it makes me think this was supposed to take place in early 2000s but your phone is an obviously modern touch screen. Which makes me think that the Devs decided the add the phone texts because "why not". The story was pretty good, although I don't think they're true, lol.

I really enjoyed watching you play and I love the fear of fathom series, but man no one ever looks under the bed nor the toiled which was such a obvious place to hide out there. Though what shocked me the most is that Jack did take a picture of the cultists at work, what happened to that ??? No mention at all ??? I mean that was his proof right there !

I really enjoyed this episode. The game looked really good, the atmosphere was great, the tower was beautifully isolated, like the forest equivalent of a Lighthouse. Loved the rain beating down on the windows in the last scenes. I'm pretty sure Connor was in on it,..he practically set you up on that last night. The very simple premise of the interuder prowling around outside and at your door was done really well in this game. Your commentary was brilliant, as always CJU. Perfectly timed, and witty as usual. You're absolutely right, a firewatch tower is the woodland equivalent of a lighthouse. Almost makes you wonder why there aren't more games based on them, but I suppose lighthouses are more iconic.

Theory: all the characters are in on it and Conner is the worst of them. The weird occurrences were the group basically trying to scare you into submission, especially with Silas' little speech. However, it didn't work cuz Conner kept sending you to them. He is very set on doing his job properly cuz he cant chance you reporting him. It doesnt make sense that he's completely unaware of whats going on when billy is absolutely paranoid. Why would Silas hide behind a tree instead of getting you? What's the point in leaving something at your doorstep? Why would Silas reveal himself to you? And most importantly, why practice in plain sight of your tower when they could have gone up north? Its all scare tactics to make you stay out of the woods. You only go out into the woods to investigate these fires because Connor sends you. You dont even bother considering to get your flashlight after what is OBVIOUSLY a concerning matter with that hiker. Conner wants you dead, or at least gone. The fact that he shoots down everything seems like his job is to pacify the new guy, cuz if a forest ranger starts talking about seeing things then its gonna make placating the general public harder. However because you're experienced that makes things harder. Its easier to tell a fresh hire "don't worry about xyz I'll hanndle it" but because yk better you gotta go. Also we have established that it takes a good few hours to get from your tower to the trail head and that guy chased you all the way there??? Because of your repeated "curiosity" they thought they had to kill you. Its also established that nobody is going to tell you whats going on if you ask questions so why threaten you yk? The fact that you took that picture means that you could come to know too much.

Haven't we seen this exact episode (and I don't mean Firewatch) as another game, also a tower, also a guy who says he sees us but it's not us. I remember it was here a year ago or less, it was 20min long I think. Was that a demo to this game? Edit: Found it, it was called "Do you copy?" and it was from 2017??? how the time flies, I thought it was this year (unless I watched it this year for the first time)

54:50 lol, I loved the game of peekaboo 😂 This distantly reminds me of a rather short game you played years ago (Do You Copy). I think it was made for a game jam or something, so it wasn't long or fully fleshed out, but I remember enjoying it and wishing it would have a longer and more detailed play. This is quite different, watchtower aside, and I'm thoroughly enjoying this one *more* actually, but that other indie game was brought to mind so I thought I'd mention it.

The moment I saw it had dropped, I had avoided watching anyone else play it till you did. This game was interest, though a few things have me curious. Like what year was it supposed to take place in? The knock off brand Windows 98 for instance said it could play MP4s. They seem to have an actual camera or a cell phone with a camera option but either doesn't really make sense. If it was a regular camera how were they uploading the pictures to their phone or if it was the camera on the phone how the hell did the cultists even see the flash? Also I think Connor was part of the cult. He said the tower wasn't used in years except it clearly had lights on, the fact that he was fixing his generator all day but still was able to use his radio (yours went dead when the power went out) along with a few things he said made me think he is a part of it. Or at the very least knew of the cult.

There were 3 he could watch and one was a training video for the job your doing and Sean aka Jackseptcye did the voice for the guy in the video. If you watch his girlfriend Gab Smolders play this game it’s kinda cute when she gets to that part. Sean has been in other games too like Poppy’s Playhouse and I think he was in a back rooms game.

I’m someone who is terrified of the woods, and love when horror games are set in the woods. One of my favorite short horror games was Do You Copy….I was disappointed in the Carson house episode so I was glad this one was better

As in Firewatch the pacing is spot on. I like the freedom the game gives you until you decide to trigger the story points. Is bear spray actually a thing? Better than nothing I guess but I can't imagine standing there armed with only an aerosol while a bear is charging at you haha

Yeah, it's real. It's basically an exceptionally strong pepper spray so the fact that it didn't affect the killer is kind of ridiculous.
