Shiben Chakravorty Maybe someone could make better use of the bodies of the 2 previous people who commented just before you, smfh cuz if you seriously can't grasp the concept after watching the film, following up with additional content on YT, and then having it spelled out for you in the comments, then you are wasting a perfectly good body and/or brain, and I know some irreplaceable, one-in-a-million golden souls sadly approaching the limits of their human birth body, who if blessed with the Coagula would accomplish more in one week with your brain (That's that lump 3 feet above your ass) then you slackers have in a lifetime of poor choices, wasted youth, and of course, chronic manual masturbation.

You are probably right. The blind art dealer specifically wanted to win the auction. Now whether he rigged the game or did he invest everything he had to win it can be debated upon, but yeah, in the end, Chris' vision as a photographer with a successful art dealer with his own gallery may have been a sweet deal for him. (Not for poor Chris though XD)

gotta love this healthy conversation right here. But to address that 3 sec after thing, I remember when I saw this the first time where I was still under the notion that it's a horror- the silence as soon as he went up the stairs is one weird scene enough, adding the badminton scene prior is a double jeopardy. makes me wonder now, how do they play that auction bingo game? lol

What was so good was Rose's whole performance during it. The disapproving looks to her relatives and knowing she's in on it the whole time. I began to wonder if they were looks of "you're pushing it too far" or she was so into the role of the doting girlfriend. A brilliant example of this is when she refuses to let Chris hand over his ID to the cop. In the beginning she wants to appear as the protective girlfriend but if you think about it she's making sure it's so Chris can't be found when he gets snatched.
@haelioe2895

VERY late for me to say this but I saw in another comment someone theorized that Rose acted the way she did in the cop scene to ensure that the cop doesn’t see Chris’ ID so that when he goes missing later on there’s little to no evidence.

I felt more betrayed by the blind guy than Rose. I legit thought he could be a saviour or something to Chris. Edit: It's been 2 years since this comment so I'd like to update ya'll if you don't mind. I appreciate the concept of the blind guy being sort of a red herring now. I see it now that this is Peele's twist and flip to those white saviour stereotypes that movie people has been exposed to for years, in which we subconciously got trained to seek those in certain types of characters from any movies we watch.
@beccahawkins1905

CheesecakeLasagna I think Jordan Peele deliberately made the blind man play that role because he served as a brilliant critique of “colorblindness.” He’s literally blind, so he can’t see Chris’s skin color, but he is willingly participating in colonizing Chris’s body nonetheless, so he isn’t off the hook.

american accent is easy to do, we grew up with it in all the films we watch growing up. i think the reverse is difficult, american actors doing English always ends up awful. Also I think american accent just rolls of the tongue a lot easier, English has some sharper T's, when English people sing for instance they tend to sing in america prnouncation because it's easier to sing the words that way. The sharp tones need to be soften for singing.

To make Rose look different than everyone else at the party she wore casual clothes with a striped white&red t-shirt and black jeans, while everyone else was dressed in black. In the badminton scene you can see Jeremy(Rose’s brother) is wearing a red tie. The white people begin to walk over, and you can see some are wearing red. This gives away that Rose was always apart of it and her brother as well. She’s wearing red and black, but is casual showing how she was subtle and casual in reeling Chris in for taking. Obviously it’s subjective, but I disagree. They change the tone of the movie! Cheap jumpscares and the over-tuned foreshadowing destroys the suspense made by it. Sure the skeleton deer is scary at first, but we know you can’t be harmed in the sunken place, therefore, the deer presents no threat. And the badminton scene just gives away that something is up. We can tell the people there are quite racist, whether they mean it or not, but they aren’t weird until he goes upstairs. I think they were well left out. I think it's just a white flash that blinds the view you see in the sunken place and you're able to swim up to control your body again as we see this with the guy who told Chris to get out. You can also hear "splashing water" as he swims up to the "surface" again to gain control.

I actually never even thought about it like that before... I'm glad they cut out all these scenes. In the original movie, the questions the white people give are just racist and awkward, the one with the black is in fashion just went on for so long so I am glad they cut that. The badminton there is no point, they got their point across without it and also shows a bit that they are hear to watch Cris while without that you dont know what's going on. One of the things that made Get Out great is the lack of non jumpscares and just the psychological horror. Adding the whole monster in the sunken place ruins the experience. Maybe instead make it he has to live the rest of his life in fear of the memories of his mother or something

When Chris was upstairs and everyone stayed silent. It could represent how white people view black people as they literally "level up higher" in the world. And, when Chris was in complete darkness and only had a cigarette light. It could represent how alone and literally "in the dark" he felt and he only had his light to guide him. Chris could also be the only person wearing blue as he felt as if he was the "elephant in the room". And, elephants are often symbolised as being "blue" in cartoons etc.
