When Brody called for the helicopter to find the kids this was before Brody's confirmation of there being another shark about and before when they come across Tina's boat (when they are then confirmed it to be) so as far as the pilot was confirmed, it was only to rescue the teens simply in danger of drifting too far out to sea than the more imminent threat of a shark intent on eating them all!

@@excalibur2024guy the teens could have and should of yes but i guess the film wanted to portray them as "typical ignorant dumb" type horror film teens not understanding the science of sharks or that screaming (in joy or fear) would only make it a million times easier for the culprit/s to find you and attack you than magically put you out of danger!

I had a false memory from 40 years ago watching this movie. I thought there was a short shot of the pilot saying help while underwater and bubbles coming out of his mouth. I guess not! I think this was the Mandela effect no?

That shot does exist. It's a deleted scene, but it's often shown when the movie is on network TV.

It was a deleted scene (but still showed in some tv screenings or some versions of releases) that shows the pilot underwater struggling to breath whilst trying to fight off and the shark trying to break the glass in but failing, the pilot dies by drowning than actually by being eaten, hence the shark immediately resorts back to further attacking the boats!

Jaws 2 was such a lame ass film. Same with everyone that followed it. The producers went for the easy, stupid, low brow concept instead of going for a more intriguing historical look at shark attacks, beginning with Quint's experience in WW 2 at the conclusion of the war. That would have made for a more compelling storyline. Instead it's just a repeat of the same thing we saw in the original, which can't be duplicated. It's perfection.

Yes, Jaws 2 is not a good sequel. However, regarding Quint being a sailor inn WW2, he never battled a great White shark (carcharodon carcharias).

This scene of the death of Margie would be a perfect terror if it was showing a red water by her bleeding! Excatly what was missing in this film, the victims blood spreading in the water. That's why the film doesn't shock too much like Jaws, 1975.
