@@johannguchte7537 Ok i'll bite. What kind of argument is that? lol. It's like a politician saying that by virtue of him being a politician and having worked with other politicians he can assure me that no, there is no problem with corruption in politics. Would you believe him ? You're one cop speaking of your own specific experiences. I;m guessing you were sarcastic and that in reality , as a cop you have never allowed a potential cop with negative biases to be hired and have never worked with racist cops, so this is the argument on your side. On my side i have ...decades of academic work with testimonies from not only academics but experts on the field who witness police brutality and racial prejudice, that would include among others, social workers, lawyers, investigative journalists AND guess what ? even retired and active duty cops. Yup even some cops admit there's a problem lol but they also add that even just saying that can put a cop on active duty in serious trouble with his colleagues. You make jokes about white pride parties and cops openly laughing and shooting people but that's part of the problem. A lot of people.. have this reductive fantasy that racism is about klan members hunting black people for sport and lynching black people all over the place and dancing around their dangling bodies. Sry to break it to you but racism is also insidious and your average IQ adult knows full well that showing his bigotry openly will land him in serious trouble so why would he show it openly at his job of all places? I'm not saying all cops are racist far from it, but I am saying there are real issues that need to be addressed yet every time the subject is brought up, people become defensive and refuse to even admit there's a problem. Kinda tough to solve it if people pretend it isn't there. But hey again....I guess all these academics and all the innocent people who fear the police are all imagining things. You must know better.

I don’t think he would have ended up in prison as the alternate ending would have us believe. The investigation would also have corroborated Chris’s story.
@Raphie0096 жыл бұрын
Austin Christie A black guy atop a wounded white woman choking her. ....no, he wouldn't have gone to jail at all. Also, Rod talked to the police and they laughed it off. Between that and the fact that Dean (surgeon) toppled the candles in the operation room causing a fire, any proof Chris had would've literally been up in smoke.
@austinchristie35946 жыл бұрын
Trilmonté Even with the fire damage, I still think modern investigators would have managed to find a lot that would have spared Chris. They would have found the operating theatre in the basement, they would have found the body of the black man who went missing that the grandfather inhabited, they might have been able to salvage the tape they played to Chris when he was strapped to that chair in the basement. They would have found a corpse with the top of his skull surgically removed and the fathers corpse wearing remnants of surgical overalls (as well as the son). I’m just saying there’s a lot of shit that could have been learned even after the fire damage that would have supported Chris’s story.

I think Allison William did a spectacular job of playing the role of a manipulative evil woman. The fact that Rose tried to emotionally manipulate Chris into feeling sorry for her and save her, even tho she tried to kill him a couple of seconds earlier, was a testimony of how despicable she was. She tried to act on his emotions, but once she realized that she was about to die by being strangled by Chris, she decided to impart a final trauma, by showing her true face and smiling at him with malice. Chris was already traumatized enough by everything he went trough, but what she was trying to do at that last moment, was leave an impression on him, so when he is having nightmares by what has happened to him, Rose and her smiling malicious face would be there to haunt him. Not to mention that Chris is probably not gonna be able to trust a woman any time soon.

The Paranormalist Personally, I don’t think having cops arriving in the alternate ending scene would have been very realistic. It would seem more like another horror movie cliche. This ending does seem to make more sense (to me at least), because we see throughout the movie about how concerned and nervous Chris’ friend is about him. It seems more realistic that he would go to the house because he is worried about his friend, instead of staying home and doing nothing.

I think this ending has more of a winning factor considering that not only Chris is possibly the first "subject" that managed to fight back and unearth the Armitage secrets and retain the thought of their sinister acts BUT being that he was supposedly Rose's favorite (even though she manipulated him into releasing her neck, plus the other shit in the film) it adds more to her fall as well. That dead, cold expression she has before slipping away in the road. It's almost like an unbelievable expression, years of luring Black men out and having their bodies become physically hostage to another man's brain and will. So many men that became unsuspecting victims only for the family to finally have picked the wrong man and it cost them everything. Well done Jordan Peele!

By grinning at him she was basically rubbing it in that their whole relationship was fake and that she took advantage of him. Chris realised she wasn’t worth the effort as she would die soon anyway.

You're right, being a white man if i was in a situation where I was choking someone and there was a dead body next to me, and a cop rolled up, i would be allowed to continue choking the person until they died and then then the cop would come up and high five me for doing my white person duty🙄🙄

I'm pretty sure he just put his hands up because that would be the rational, common sense thing to do, but hey, even if I'm wrong about why he did it and it was only because he was afraid he'd be shot since he is black I wouldn't even be surprised because the makers of the movie, from other films they've made, are pretty, and I say pretty biased when it comes to this stuff.

Her smiling while he was strangling her just shows how much she truly hates him. I believe that's why he stopped because in that moment he realized it too.
