Thank you Peter- very educational video. In my humble opinion- for some FtN is a substitute for the ''clicker'' as you said. For others, feather to nose could be an additional confirmation for the anchor point- (that obviously will divert from proposed by your purpose- but it works ). BTW Very beautiful bow.

If one can manage the static hold in the long run, without starting to creap, or colapse or even without knowing it getting faster and faster releasing. Then go for it. But even that takes a struggle now and then😊

@@peterjuulsgaardThank you Peter. Yep, works for me as confirmation of anchor, but I evolved it (or devolved as you prefer) from the original FtN I learned from you some time ago.

Really excellent as always, Peter. I have used this technique for the past three years, thanks to you. I have found that if I do not put the feather exactly at the tip of my nose, I will shoot off the target.

Yep! One need to develope a consistent way to do it, and adapt to the feather to nose.

Good shooting bud, good content. I've not taken up the bow yet, I've been practicing with a hunters catapult, GZK bands, 8mm steel. After 2,500 shots I'm only now tuning into every shot being on target and seeing the flight of the 8mm steel. It feels really good when you start getting it right.

Hey Peter... First a big tak for your channel ... very helpful to someone like me who started trad bow (any bow shooting) back in November (with a view to hunting)... one of my favourite practices is trying to nail this 'Royal Flush' from 15 yards... this is the closest I got, missing the ace... total target panic which the camera induces and I soooo wanted to do it... maybe the feather to nose technique will work for me... at the moment, I say "here I go" in my head whilst slowly expanding and release somewhere during that... I also might try Clay Hayes technique with the finger bump on the bow... but anyway... I'd like to see someone nail the royal flush cause it's doing my nut I can't do it 😅

Thanks for watching. I’ll reccomend to commit 100% to the psycho trigger to solve your problem. But the trigger it self doesent cure TP. The only thing that does is the line of thoughts we have during the shot. The psycho trigger is only a tool

Great tip Peter. Do you consider the feather-to-nose technique and the use of clicker equivalents for avoiding target panic? I personally never used a clicker and use the feather to nose technique just like you, but I have always being curious about the use of a clicker in traditional archery. Perhaps I will try a clicker in one of my bows someday (not sure whether I will like the clicking noise though, jeje) Thanks for sharing.

The primerely reason I dont use the clicker is that I then need a clicker on every bow I shoot. Because its not a gadget you just move from bow to bow. Other reasons would be the reasons I adressing in this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/gqO2ZJeDn6iNr6M

@@peterjuulsgaard That is absolutely true. I didn't think about it, and if you have and shot many bows, then a clicker ad plenty more complications to archery. Great point. I think I might just try a clicker one of these days just to get the feel of it, but I will probably stick to my arrow-to-nose form just as you do. Cheers!

I've used a clicker extensively and find them incredibly helpful. Of all the psycho-trigger options so far, it's the only one that doesn't require me to split focus off of my shot sequence. Meaning, that with a tab sear, grip sear, or most other things, the psycho-trigger is an extra step in the shot sequence, whereas the clicker just simply goes off as you expand. My read of the feather-to-nose is that it is the same idea; just simply expand into the release. I'm going to try it after this hunting season is over. I've spent too much time setting up with a clicker to change now, but come the winter I'll switch over.

Hello Peter, did you had issues like hitting your nose or face with this technique? I like it but thats a problem sometimes. Like my head is not rotated enough to target direction, but when i face fully to the target, i can't Reach tip of my nose... 😅 Do you have any advices? Greetings
@peterjuulsgaard
@peterjuulsgaard 8 ай бұрын
Use plasters on your nose. I’ve had that issue my self many times. I’ve seen top shooters do that too. Maybe your anchor point needs to be more infront of your face, instead of on the side of your face.

Pete another great video! Question: if you bareshaft tune your arrows do you use the tape on them or not at all? Thanks
@peterjuulsgaard
@peterjuulsgaard Жыл бұрын
If I put tape on when I bareshaft, I dont let it stick out like this. The only reason for the tape there is to compensate the weight of the feathers

I got a batch of arrows in one time and cut them ALL off the length I WANTED. What I wanted was NOT what my BOW WANTED. I had cut them TOO SHORT. Dang it.
