My mom and dad were the Snyders who won the house! I remember watching my parents on tv that day from our Brooklyn apartment.

Thanks so much for this! My great-grandparents were on this show at some point and won a stove, dining room table and chairs, and Home and Garden book.

I was beginning to think "Feather Your Nest" was a figment of my imagination. But, low and behold, what must be the only episode out there. My sister and I watched this rather convoluted show. I did retain some of it but we're now some 60 yrs later so it's great to have an actual show to fill in the blanks. A real trip down memory lane, thank you so much!

Tom G You're very welcome! The second contestant is actually my wife's great-grandmother. We came across the old film reel and digitized it to share it with friends and family on KZbin. Glad you enjoyed it!

It's even more amazing to connect the show to your family. What great people we had in those days. Great-grandmother Gallagher and son Arthur, poised, informed and good prize pickers. Well, thanks again. P.S. the red, yellow and green feathers puzzles me since the show was in black and white.

Air453: Thank you for posting. How did you come across the "old film reel"? I am searching for another episode that my newlywed parents were in about 1955. Would love to digitalize it and show it to them. I can also be reached at mlandau08@icloud.com. Thanks.

@@mlwest (This is Air453's wife, my great-grandmother is the second contestant in this episode) To answer your question, my grandfather had the reel in storage since the 50's or 60's and my husband and I digitized it for him and put it on KZbin to share with our family and anyone else who might be interested. My grandfather's career was in television and I believe a friend who worked for NBC gave him a copy of this specific episode because his mother and brother were contestants. We unfortunately do not have access to any other episodes.

Thank you for your work in sharing this episode. Daytime game shows from this era are a true rarity and its fortunate that your great-grandmother was able to get a kinescope at a time when the time period such kinescopes would have been retained couldn't have been particularly long given how so little of these shows exist today.

True story- my parents and I were contestants on this show and won the entire kitchen. I have the 78 rpm record of it which I have digitized. My father was a Canadian army officer and we were vacationing in New York when he was stationed at Ft. Benning 1953-1957. I still have knives!

Danny: Great story. I am also searching for an old episode. Do you know if any other 78 rpm records of the shows might exist somewhere in archives at a library?

I hope you can share your digitized recording some day. Game shows of this era, especially daytime ones are lost treasures of TV history and anything that's been preserved, even in audio only would be great to hear.

Austin, home of spam. Didn't know that. Really educational! A stort online investigation revealed that there's even a big spam museum in that town. I also learned that you shouldn't hand contestants tubes of toothpaste at the beginning of the show as they don't know where to put the stuff :)

My parents were on this show in May 1956. Is there anyway we could obtain the video. Any ideas in how to go about finding this treasure video?

My parents were on the show just after their wedding in September 1955. They won a bedroom set, which is still in our family, and a washer and dryer, which aren't! Would love to find "their" episode. If anyone out there has any other FYN episodes, hope you will post them here!

any chance you have the episode just prior to this one? My grandparents were the winners of the house mentioned at the opening...I have all sorts of documentation of this but never was able to find the episode. Thank you for posting this. Amazing.

Hello, Ethan. I'm sorry, I don't have the prior episode. I only have this one because a relative of mine is in it. I'm still amazed at how many people have found this video and shared their stories. It's great to hear!

Interesting show, though I'm admittedly a bit confused on the rules. Still, great to see at least one episode survived, and Bud Collyer is always great to see. :) Based on comments during the first few minutes, this is from January 3, 1955.
