@@patfromamboy hey Hi... Good morning... Not quite seven am., Sunday I've just woken up from a short overnight sleep... Thanks, it's so nice to wake up to a (your) Groucho Marx remark in background triggering instantaneous subconscious laughter / happy recollection of whatever, marx bros...a smile to one's face, from the heart... I'm glad you got the books... Enjoy thoroughly for loooong time. I still do. With handsets & KZbin they are never far away to reach. I just want yo expand a bit...your welcome comment, triggered memories of Harpo's friends Alexander Woollcott & Dorothy Parker. Excellent companions, exquisite writing left behind for us to indulge in... Woollcott also wrote that play - man who came to dinner - It's one of the funniest movies I've seen. Besides Jack Lemmon, Walter Matthau combos, amongst many others, like Mel Brookes, Gene Wilder, Carole Burnett ... I should catch a few zzzs for an hour or so... I'm still tired, a bit. Besides, it's Sunday morn, before Mayday Monday... I want it all sunny & lazy... @@MrMenefrego1 did not, in fact, "make his point". The original poster, Lawrence commented specifically on mode of dress & said nothing about the many topics you covered, You mention the younger generation being disrespectful and uncouth then turn right around and destroy your own credibility by unnecessarily implying immaturity and then call gender into question, suggesting your own ignorance and lack of respect not to mention just plain mean-spiritedness and hypocrisy. It is possible to use & express logic without utilizing the kind of vague generalization and baseless personal attacks you've chosen to display in this forum. Also at some point you mistook Lawrence for Nathan when you made your baseless, irrelevant gender attack. For the record, your post looked exactly like this: @NathanJustice You have just proven his point; the younger generation in America are, for the most part, rude, disrespectful, trashy, uncouth, ignorant (in so many ways) and purposely dress like trash. Grow-up little girl. (or do you identify as a boy, 'Laurence'?) - Now you can go back and edit your original mistakes to appear less unappealing. Oh, you're welcome.

16:57 I think the Dodgers exceeded Charlie's expectations. Come October of '59, they beat the White Sox to win the World Series. Sadly, he didn't live to see it. He apparently died of a heart attack on Dec. 28, 1958, shortly after this episode was recorded. As a boy, he had rheumatic fever, which did permanent damage to his heart. He was only 28.

★ FYI: According to the CPI Cost Inflation Calculator, $10,000 US dollars in 1959 is the equivalent to $82,964.95 in 2016. which means, after splitting the winnings, each of them get the equivalent of $41,482.47. (There will be one penny left over which should go to me for taking the time to figure this all out. : ) She said she wanted to purchase a swimming pool with her winnings. Considering the average cost of brand new house in 1959 was $12,400.00, the most expensive model of Ford car was only $4,000 and the average yearly wages were $5,010.00; it's safe to assume she could have built an olympic sized pool and still had enough money left over! This is why I say, in 2021, Jeopardy, despite millions of viewers, and the highest cost for ad time of any game show, is the cheapest show in the history of Game Shows. Also, it's almost impossible to get to be a player on Jeopardy.

Groucho was right that the Dodgers first season in LA (1958) was terrible. They finished seventh out of eight teams. But in the season that started shortly after this episode aired, they turned it around to win the NL Pennant and the World Series.

At 15:35, when Pat said the secret word, "hand," down comes "the duck" to give away the $100. Seeing how she is dressed, like a woman ought to dress, I'm reminded once again of how wonderful it used to be. Now, you are hard pressed to find any woman who wears nice dresses and heels, and are forced to look at two extremes -- young girls dressed as whores or young girls dressed like boys. AAARGH! I hate both! I cringe every time I see a young woman, otherwise attractive, who is basically dressed in boy's clothing, baseball cap cocked sideways or backwards, man's shirt, torn skinny jeans, and wearing either tennis shoes, hiking shoes (or combat boots) or Ugghs! UGH! Likewise, I cringe at the so-called fashions of this day, if you can get a girl into a dress, they reveal WAY too much and the young girls today wear these gawd-awful platform heels and sandals. My God, they look just like streetwalkers. And then the hair. Shaved, sometimes, poofed here and there, outrageous colors, or looking like freaking Mickey Mouse -- pierced body parts, hardware installed in their skulls and faces, pierced tongues so they can't even speak properly. What the hell? Nope, I loved the modest sexiness of what women wore in this era -- classy, but seldom whorish, entirely feminine, arousing every red-blooded man into wanting to know more about her. Manners, class, dignity, natural beauty; most women actually had those then. Today, not so much. I am so sad for what we have become and we can thank leftist feminism for blowing up our society in the manner it has, feminizing men and masculinizing women, blurring the genders in every way possible and even leading to thousands of mentally ill people "changing" their gender, although in reality they really don't. They still are who they were born physically -- boys and men will always be boys and men, girls and women will always be girls and women no matter how some surgeon has removed or added. I hate the way our country is today. Watching these old shows reminds me of just how it used to be, and a kinder and gentler time. How I wish we could turn the clock back.

Some nostalgia kick in the shins that is entirely bogus. First of all, there never was an "order"... Diversity is the general rule. The scotts wear kilts and the pants are perfect for no-testicle persons... If you are only comfortable with one form of sexual expression, then most of the human history is irrelevant to you

Delusion is the world we live in today with your ilk being far too populous. Evidently order and classiness is some kind of threat to you. Thank God there are some people who still embrace those. You’re obviously not one of them. Enjoy your chaos!

@@michaelswanson1105 You know where order and classiness reign? Military and prison. The most repressive human inventions. I am sure some like them and wish everything was like them... But good grief the world is unlike the military and prison. Enjoy your subjugation.

Hey Einstein, anarchy doesn’t work, as has been proven over and over. Look at nature. Is there diversity? Of course there is. But there is also order. A duck doesn’t try to become a giraffe. It is only humans, in their pridefulness, that fail to fulfill what they were placed on this earth to do. Want to live strictly for self and live like hell? Well guess what, you will certainly get there. Our world, our country, was largely a better, more civilized place in the past. We have devolved despite technological “advances.” And your responses have certainly affirmed that. Want to imagine that there’s 58 different sexual choices for gender, well go ahead and believe that. But who is living in dilution? It’s not me.
