Feathersticks and the real world application

Feathersticks are something in the Survival world that has become something of a cliché. People make them and quite often don't understand their true application.

Feather sticks are the only bit of bushcraft that I can do at the moment making little fires in the garden during lockdown and recovering from long Covid. I find it very therapeutic.
