Great video featuring Tawi-tawi. That's basically what the foreign tourists are looking for- spicy, fresh, appealing. You've featured Zamboanga City but I think you've missed a lot of the real Zamboangueño food. I'm talking about the Verdadero Zamboangueño ( authentic native Christian Zamboangueños with Spanish ancestry). Chikalang, suman ibus, suman latik, tamal, saging rebusao (a different version of banana cue) , durul, maja blanca de zamboanga, empanada de Zamboanga with spicy vinegar dipping sauce, peanuts fried in garlic and spicy catumbal, gata gabi, cocido, asao tulingan con latu y agal-agal, caldo cabeza de pescao con tanglad, chicken bbq, and indulsao puerco (pork shoulder cooked in brown sugar and pineapple).

Thank you for showing places where only few dare to enter Erwan. No one would ever thought Tawi-tawi would be this beautiful. To be honest, i havent been to Mindanao because of the old (and stupid) mentality that its not that safe. Thank you for educating naive people like me. There is more to Mindanao than what mainstream media shows.

that mama is betel nut in english :) also "tiola itum" comes from tinola itim and I'm sure you know why it's called that after you've seen it.
@wenderis
@wenderis Жыл бұрын
The oldest known tradition of chewing betel nuts is from the North Luzon and Palawan actually. Papuan were most likely introduced to betel nut by Austronesian. In another note, nice to see lots of Sumatran dishes travel far to the Philippines and the locals adapt it more to their taste bud.

My husband who is a Bicolano cooks a dish similar to Chicken Piyanggang. He would burn the coconut meat and extract the coconut milk from it. It is not preserved so he does this at the same time when he cooks the dish. To get that exotic and flavorful taste, he uses native chicken. But Thank you for this another great vlog!!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼❤️
