Isn't MagSafe what makes Apple's wireless charging design special? Since embedding magnets into the phone is patented by Apple, Android phone can only rely on cases with magnet rings built in so that the phone will stick onto magsafe stations.
@_chan.burn.21_13 күн бұрын
That's what I was going to mention too. I'm by no means an Apple apologist, but Magsafe has been one of if not the single most innovative advancement in wireless charging technology. It's even to the point that the Qi standard itself has adopted the concept through Qi2, something all but one Android phone still has not adopted. Most of the features here aren’t really copied but rather things Apple was compelled to implement due to external or industry-wide standards. Honestly, you could’ve picked many other actual obvious copied features. Moreover, many of these features are necessities. This entire video boils down to saying that “everyone who built a car with airbags copied the first car ever made with airbags.” Face Unlock or ID, for instance, became essential on iPhones because they removed the fingerprint sensor so does water resistance. A discovery over time becomes a necessity or a norm that everyone requires, attributing that to copying might sound ok but in depth that’s not it

This fascinates me that people try to say that copying a feature is actually a bad thing when it's 100% the exact opposite. A company needs to innovate constantly, and can't always stay stagnant. So copying and changing things is just plain saying yes you have a great idea lets see what we can do to improve on it, and then the other company says oh so you did that lets see what we can do better and so on, and in the years everyone wins, so why is this a bad thing? Every company needs to do this, the Chinese are the best example, the where, not to long ago, at the bottom for a lot of things and now there completely killing it in every market, that's just progress.

In contrast, disabling the wallpaper while maintaining the AOD reduces the drain to about 0.6% per hour. While this may seem minimal, it can be significant for users seeking to maximize battery longevity.

@@TT__. these people are idiots think that they out smart you in anyway. yes refresh rate also impact the power consumption. to find out the true differences between the 2 implementation, you will need to consider the power supply system, battery size, voltage, circuit efficiency, screen luminance efficiency, and even software efficiency. its hard to say when 2 device have different hardware and software from screen to display driver and OS. even if they may use the same driver chip, the distance between different component still plays a significant role in power consumption. its very very hard to say which is better. they best way to compare would be dont on the same design on a mass scale to lower the affect of individual differences (tolerance). this can be expensive and hard to conduct the differences. judging from the view point of user experience, instead of science, I have heard the iPhone drained 13% while Samsung did 11%, so it would be a better implementation on the Samsung. considering overall efficiency as iPhone battery is honestly way small than Samsung's, iPhone have better overall efficiency. since Apple now also provide all black option (I recalled), I dont think the 2 would differs by much in terms of user experience (exception that iPhone could not launch apple from AOD).

Does it really benefit us? Or is it just a game they play to slow innovation and keep you huying the next iphone every year?
@Peter-h9n5p10 күн бұрын
Moet iPhone users would say buying a new phone every year is dumb. even apple's environmental report expect their phone to be used for 2 years at least.
@jupiter45210 күн бұрын
@Peter-h9n5p talking samsung aswell. People are still buying the new iPhone/samsung regardless but the game they play with a bit here a bit there. Seems to me they are using that to make people buy the new flagship phones in general.

Ok, but what about Samsung copying titanium from Apple? And using grade 2 titanium, which is cheaper and less resistant than apple’s grade 5 titanium.

As they say in the NFL, “It’s a copycat league.” No matter what field you’re in whether it’s a pro sports team or a major corporation making phones, everybody copies each other to at least some extent to get ahead.

Me waiting for the iPhone to have an hole punch display instead of the notch or the Dynamic Island💀
@Peter-h9n5p10 күн бұрын
I would argue with how apple implemented the feature design into the product, but did not get a certificate for it and was probably in the Lab not released. I do admit apple do copy features, but when it comes to Face ID I just would not agree it, as they are based on completely different technology. it's like you wont call FDM a copy cat of TDM, they are different implementations of a feature that was intended to archive a similar outcome. I would say Samsung is innovating with the iris scanning feature (despite of causing eye strain).it good to see good features being picked by different companies to further perfect their products, and im looking forward to different new implementation from Apple, as well as other companies.

I don't think samsung was the first phone to introduce wireless charging. It was the nokia Lumia 820 and Lumia 920 back then in 2012

For such expensive products revearse wireless charging should be included from iPhone 12 upwards. And proper always on display and standby clocks also on all iPhones not just after thought versions.

The information seems correct but it is impossible to not feel that the author is more of an Apple supporter. We can also understand this from the fact that he didn't include Apple's attempth of copying AI features from Samsung and completely messing up. Though still a good video. 👍

6:17 My guy clearly forgot about MagSafe. Sure Samsung made the wireless charging idea, but it sucked. It was like 6 watts, and was not thermally efficient. On the other hand. The IPhone 8 could charge wirelessly at 15 watts with no heat issues. Apples MagSafe also keeps the coils aligned for better efficiency

Someone has to come up the idea first and implement it or otherwise Apple can't copy and perfect it.
@Tuiiim19 күн бұрын
Okay, but let's consider one last thing. Overall when it comes to security apple is way behind samsung. Firstly there's the face ID which is more secure now than before, but it's still considered a mid level security system. And since they don't have fingerprints it's pretty much insecure. As for samsung you have the fingerprint hidden under the screen which is convenient, 100% secure and waaaay more cool.

auctully apples devices are very secure
@Tuiiim12 күн бұрын
@janetshabani-qu7hq so they have been saying for 15 years but things have changed. Don't you agree that a fingerprint which is unique to everyone is much safer than a "face id" that your twin brother or someone who looks like you or someone with a picture of you can unlock? Thieves have been doing it in my country for years.
