Isn't MagSafe what makes Apple's wireless charging design special? Since embedding magnets into the phone is patented by Apple, Android phone can only rely on cases with magnet rings built in so that the phone will stick onto magsafe stations.

That's what I was going to mention too. I'm by no means an Apple apologist, but Magsafe has been one of if not the single most innovative advancement in wireless charging technology. It's even to the point that the Qi standard itself has adopted the concept through Qi2, something all but one Android phone still has not adopted. I'd argue Magsafe is a far more innovative addition than reverse wireless charging, though I do enjoy having it on my Pixel.

Most of the features here aren’t really copied but rather things Apple was compelled to implement due to external or industry-wide standards. Honestly, you could’ve picked many other actual obvious copied features. Moreover, many of these features are necessities. This entire video boils down to saying that “everyone who built a car with airbags copied the first car ever made with airbags.” Face Unlock or ID, for instance, became essential on iPhones because they removed the fingerprint sensor so does water resistance. A discovery over time becomes a necessity or a norm that everyone requires, attributing that to copying might sound ok but in depth that’s not it

This fascinates me that people try to say that copying a feature is actually a bad thing when it's 100% the exact opposite. A company needs to innovate constantly, and can't always stay stagnant. So copying and changing things is just plain saying yes you have a great idea lets see what we can do to improve on it, and then the other company says oh so you did that lets see what we can do better and so on, and in the years everyone wins, so why is this a bad thing? Every company needs to do this, the Chinese are the best example, the where, not to long ago, at the bottom for a lot of things and now there completely killing it in every market, that's just progress.

@fredrickbambino
@fredrickbambino 13 күн бұрын
When the AOD is active with the wallpaper visible, studies indicate an approximate battery drain of 0.8% per hour. In contrast, disabling the wallpaper while maintaining the AOD reduces the drain to about 0.6% per hour. Over a 24-hour period, this difference accumulates to a 4.8% higher battery consumption when the wallpaper is displayed. While this may seem minimal, it can be significant for users seeking to maximize battery longevity.

At 2:10 you aren’t right. Apples Dynamic Island is different from Samsungs hole punch. Apple knew the notch was taking up space, so they shrunk into Dynamic Island, and moved into the screen. They didn’t look at Samsungs phone and say “yeah we like that cutout, just make it wider” The Dynamic Island houses more than the front camera, it has the Face ID sensors and more. They didn’t copy the hole punch cutout in any remote way.

@@TT__. these people are idiots think that they out smart you in anyway. yes refresh rate also impact the power consumption. to find out the true differences between the 2 implementation, you will need to consider the power supply system, battery size, voltage, circuit efficiency, screen luminance efficiency, and even software efficiency. its hard to say when 2 device have different hardware and software from screen to display driver and OS. even if they may use the same driver chip, the distance between different component still plays a significant role in power consumption. its very very hard to say which is better. they best way to compare would be dont on the same design on a mass scale to lower the affect of individual differences (tolerance). this can be expensive and hard to conduct the differences. judging from the view point of user experience, instead of science, I have heard the iPhone drained 13% while Samsung did 11%, so it would be a better implementation on the Samsung. considering overall efficiency as iPhone battery is honestly way small than Samsung's, iPhone have better overall efficiency. since Apple now also provide all black option (I recalled), I dont think the 2 would differs by much in terms of user experience (exception that iPhone could not launch apple from AOD).

@Peter-h9n5p 10 күн бұрын
@@eastlondonhustler no their is not. Apple's screen used to be better than Samsung, as Samsung only make the screen, Samsung dont have the entire control of the production line either. its still a customized production line. Apple's color accuracy on oled screen was later on catched up by other companies a year or 2 later their release. (Source: Chinese KZbinr talking about OLED screen development)

Great video as always, but I’m pretty sure reverse wireless charging was introduced by huawei first, and an iPhone can reverse wireless charge but only the battery pack, still unreliable because that whole process takes forever and it just doesn’t make sense, I just always charge my battery pack

The talk about the always not display is not entirely true. If you do more research you will find the Apples AOD is way more optimized and efficient, and uses significantly less battery. It’s not simply that just because all the pixel are lit means it automatically uses more battery. Apple had worked on their technology to allow every pixel to stay lit and still be way more efficient. This creator obviously did not do enough research on this specific topic before including it in the video.

Reverse wireless charging is available on iPhones 12 to 16, though only for the MagSafe Battery Pack. And your phone has to be plugged in, but still it’s there and as bonus the iPhone 11 has the hardware to do it. And as another bonus Apple was the first to add reverse charging, they quietly added wired reverse charging on the 2018 (a year before Samsung) iPad Pro and only marketed it with the iPhone 15, even though every iPad with a USB-C port is technically a power bank.

I would argue with how apple implemented the feature design into the product, but did not get a certificate for it and was probably in the Lab not released. I do admit apple do copy features, but when it comes to Face ID I just would not agree it, as they are based on completely different technology. it's like you wont call FDM a copy cat of TDM, they are different implementations of a feature that was intended to archive a similar outcome. I would say Samsung is innovating with the iris scanning feature (despite of causing eye strain).it good to see good features being picked by different companies to further perfect their products, and im looking forward to different new implementation from Apple, as well as other companies.

The IPhone 8 could charge wirelessly at 15 watts with no heat issues. Apples MagSafe also keeps the coils aligned for better efficiency

Okay, but let's consider one last thing. Overall when it comes to security apple is way behind samsung. Firstly there's the face ID which is more secure now than before, but it's still considered a mid level security system. And since they don't have fingerprints it's pretty much insecure. As for samsung you have the fingerprint hidden under the screen which is convenient, 100% secure and waaaay more cool.

@janetshabani-qu7hq so they have been saying for 15 years but things have changed. Don't you agree that a fingerprint which is unique to everyone is much safer than a "face id" that your twin brother or someone who looks like you or someone with a picture of you can unlock? Thieves have been doing it in my country for years.
