Jeff, please make an in-depth video on how to perform a proper release on a traditional bow. For both 3 under and split finger, tab vs glove etc…Plucking the string and bad habits plague many of us. Please like this comment if you all would like Jeff to do this video!! Thanks brother, and god bless!

If you get proper back tension you will not pluck the string lots of practice

I've gone round and round with it for about 35 years now. Sometimes the more I shoot the worse I get and feel like I cant hit the broad side of a barn. Something I've found that helps is to hang up the bow and spend several weeks training with handguns, different of course but the reasons we miss and struggle are closely related. Once I've re-mastered the fundamentals of handgun shooting, good clean, strait trigger press, front sight focus, follow through, I pick the long bow back up and It's noticeably better. I live in Alaska so carrying a handgun while bowhunting is a must anyway. Having target panic with your side arm around here could turn you into grizzly bear scat.

My target is literally a hair using the spilt vision instinctively process but it's only good if your 100 % locked into your core skills. Yes I'm trying to cut a single hair that's in the zone. Turkeys are way easier because I'm trying to cut a feather, much much bigger target but much smaller kill zone. 20 and under it's game over.... Love the content keep up the great work.

Some days I shoot so good, the other day I'm no so bad. Lately same happened to me I started short drawing the bow, but didnt really noticed, I started training with heavy bows just pulling them, over 110 pounds,so I would feel more comfortable shooting my 45 . Something strange happened, I started to develop strange habit of not drawing light bow corectly ,only have correct form when pulling heavy bow, putting my back in to it. Measured my draw that I developed in half year and it's only 27 inches. Same thing happened to me I'm afraid to shoot at small targets. Not confident at all. Tried to develop good new ancher point, working on it.. Thanks for sharing you insights..

Good Evening Jeff, I came across your channel after my wife had surprised me with a new longbow, my first next to a Bear Cheyenne Wildlife association limited addition. I am venturing into this aspect of archery parallel to compound archery, my staple. My goal is to get fluent to take large (whitetail) game before next fall here in Upstate New York (Not NYC). Your videos are wonderful and I am attempting to model my training on your teachings. Your information is valuable to me as well as others. I am a fan of large aluminum (25-27 diameter) shafts. I am wondering if you can do a videos [or a few] about utilizing large diameter arrows in traditional archery. I would love to use my large diameter 2613's for hunting in a traditional sense. With a compound, I have taken lots of game, small and large with these arrows. If you could be obliged by informing us about these larger shafts for traditional, I know alot of us would be in your debt. Thank you, Andriy.

Thanks for the video. You have helped me greatly to shoot better. I was tugging the string back and not drawing the bow back like you do now. I got in this bad habit because I was afraid of spooking the deer and overbowed. I didn't have a consistant anchor too.

Again another great job Brother. Love your honesty. Even better, that we will be sharing the same home in eternity. To anyone who doesn't know what I am talking about , may respond to me. My question is; I purchased a big boys bow . And I am now ready to graduate from entry level arrows. I intend to stay with carbon. But would you possibly have any good suggestions. I have the 3 river catalog, but it is a little overwhelming. Thanks Jeff. And God bless

Jeff, i have been watching your videos and am addicted to your channel. You are a huge inspiration for me. Thanks for all you do. I am a compound bow hunter and just purchased my first recurve bow, a bow called the ghost, made by the company southwest archery. I’ve only been shooting for a month, but am loving it and am noticing myself improving, i have been shooting instinctively. I have been shooting 3 days a week, my question is do you think it is reasonable that i will be able to hunt with it by next October?

Well spoken Jeff, tight into the face on anchor is the key. Otherwise I toss a high right arrow. Why not left I don't understand, but there it lands. Also, pulling pulling with the back.

Jeff, I think your a good guy, but no way can I see that little pause you do at anchor as sufficient to establish what's needed to fully overcome TP, and I've shot with a lot of guys who've had it. Do wish you the best though.

You guys takes this way to far….correct your mistakes and move on. Way too many archers make this sound like terminal cancer. I think way to many people need to stay away from Recurves and stay to compounds or whatever it takes to harvest the game. Way to much muncho men in trad archery … they don’t need wheels but wow the deer they round , miss, and never find in more in that crowd than any other crowd. I shot traditional when I have the proper time to shot it but if not the compound has my freezers full. But it I have proper time and discipline with recurve, it’s on the same ….dont over complicate thinks.
