Had a good month hunting with my cast of harris hawks until Mercury mysteriously hurt himself again. he is no worse for wear no but it looked bad when it happened.
Personal note: I have one last month to edit and then a compilation. We just had another baby but I'll try my hardest to get them done before the next season starts!

Great vid how comes you never feed them of fist?

My birds get very glove bound if I feed them off the fist 2-3 times in a row. Common practice in the US for harris hawks is to transition from the fist to jump downs or lure feeding as fast as possible when manning. The idea is to instill in them that the fist is a good place and if they sit there they will have opportunities to leave and get food. I'm even careful when feeding them out of my hand for transfers, trying to do a top level tidbit so they don't foot at the glove. Thank you for watching!

Thanks for the video it helped scratch the itch to get back out hunting! I know you are probably ready for summer to be over to get back out hawking as well! My red tail and Harris’s are both almost done with their molt 2-3 deck feathers left to drop! Hope your molt is going good as well! Happy Hawking!!!!
