Boy after looking at your garden I can tell I’ve pulled out plants thinking they were dead but really were just still dormant TY for this video

I’ve done it too! This is exactly why I like doing the full garden tours, because it gives a chance to show some plant details that I normally wouldn’t have need to mention, otherwise 💕

I usually cut back all my dead plants before winter. Do I not have to do that? It looks like you don't.

You can but you don’t have to. Some plants really need it because some are more susceptible to things like rot, mold, and mildew. For most of the others though, it’s fine to wait. Plus, some plants regenerate from old wood, so by cutting off growth at the end of the season, you could be lowering the plant’s potential to grow bigger the following year, as it has less old wood to grow from. It really depends on the individual plant.

@@TheMintedMaiden I never saw the alphabet attached to the zones, but I just found a map with it. Me being in north Texas, I believe zone 8a and 8b, and just starting to garden, can I ask what I should be looking at planting in the next 30 days? Veggie wise

@@jasonhoff9611 Your cool weather crops like peas, lettuces, and anything in the brassicas family will need to go in as soon as the ground isn’t frozen (assuming you have snow?) after that, start your summer veggies. Summer veggies won’t go out until after frost danger has passed.

@@jasonhoff9611 more cool crops I didn’t list... beets, carrots, onions are a few more. And check out my Patreon account if you decide you want more detailed guidance as the season goes on :)
