Omg I 100% agree with your review of The Light we Lost. Soooo many people loved that book and I felt like I was in the twilight zone lol. Lucy was a terrible person and the ending was a hard no for me!

Loved the video Rach!! A book I highly recommend is 'Cleopatra & Frankenstein' by Coco Mellors!! It has become my new favourite book, but you can't go into it expecting the perfect romance, I think fans of 'Normal People' would enjoy this! Plus the cover is stunning💖

I read if he had been with me in 2 days. I actually cried at the end. I never cry. I just did not see it coming. I saw some stuff coming but not that. I was so mad lol. I also loved the dark artifices series soooo much.

I JUST finished Rock Paper Scissors and i loved it - 4 stars .. BUT that plot twist made me feel like i was lied to!! 😆 (even though i wasn't lied to at all 🤣👌) AND next up i am going to start Things We Never Got Over - FINALLY.. after it has been on my TBR for 8+ months 🙈, i am not letting the length of that book intimidate me any longer! 😊

I totally agree with your thoughts on In a Jam! The spice definitely took over from what could have been a really good plot. I felt that (slight spoiler) the author should totally have put the letters at the start of each chapter instead of those random school notes, then we would have seen a better insight into their teen relationship and the reveal would have been much more exciting!

I personally did not enjoy In a Jam at all. I dnf and I’m happy I did everything about it was so boring to me. I thought the characters were bland and I did not like the little girl. I found her to be very annoying and I internally cringed whenever she was on page. I was really hoping to love it because I heard so many good reviews, but I didn’t and I will not be reading anything from this author EVER again. 😤 sorry for my rant I just had to get that out

I read in a jam last month also and I feel the EXACT same way you do about it. You explained it perfectly. Genie definitely made the book for me and the rest fell flat but in the beginning I was LOVING it.

This feels like deja vu so I apologize if I've recommended this before, lol, but I really loved Accidentally Amy by Lynn Painter. It's so, so funny. It's fall themed but not heavily so it could be enjoyable any time even if you're a seasonal reader.

I've been in such a huge book slump for most of this year already. I only read 3 books in January and didn't read any in February. I did start a fantasy romance series in March and so far I'm on the second book. I'm hoping that being consistent will help me get through this book slump. The progress is slow but I'm getting there haha

I feel like a story is a timeline of events and someone is telling you what happened and book is more dialogue… a love story is two peoples journey and a romance is cutest or sultry … right?

I agree about Taylor jenkin reid. I feel like the further back I go the worse her books get. She’s definetly improved her writing over time. Forever interrupted was not it for me, just said for way to long. I’d rather have the love story then third act he dies versus he dies right at the beginning

This is making me want to reread the light we lost because I remember when I read it really enjoying it- not for the characters but the way it made me reflect and think about things and how trauma bonds people. I never liked the emotional cheating aspect but for some reason that story just made me think and has stuck with me so much- reminded me of the way I felt reading After I Do and One True Loves- like I didn’t love those characters but I loved the way it caused me to reflect and think about life and love.
