Fed decision and CPI release on the same day creates 'uncertainty'

On Wednesday, June 12, traders will have to digest both the May Consumer Price Index report and the Federal Reserve's latest decision on interest rates.
Given the Fed is focused on bringing inflation down to its 2% target, Deutsche Bank Securities Senior US Economist Brett Ryan says having both announcements on the same day "does add uncertainty into expectations for this report." Ryan expects the Fed will stay on hold, but "it's really going to be about the Summary of Economic Projections and how many rate cuts they take out based on the latest data."

Well the latest CPI report reinforced a potential end to the interest-rate hikes that have hurt growth for over the past year, making a soft landing scenario more likely for the US economy. Recently sold 30% of my $500k portfolio comprising of plummeting stocks, quite devastating!

In my books not your fault, the stock market seems to be more of a casino for gamblers now than a place for investors. Its your duty to properly research, buying now does not guarantee a rebound

Picking stocks is a risky thing to do, particularly for non-professionals. I learnt that in 2020, when I lost almost everything. But I switched to using a financial advisor and I've been returning at least $38k every month so I’ve been sticking to investing via an Advisor.

The US economy is more likely to experience a gentle landing if the interest rate hikes that have hampered growth over the past year come to an end, as indicated by the most recent CPI report. I just liquidated 30% of my $500k portfolio, which was mostly made up of stocks that were falling. It was horrible!

First-time home ownership is OVER. "Starter home" are over 400k average income is 58k. We've put in 77 bids in middle TN on first home and were outbid by cash investors EVERY TIME. Now, we're priced out due to price and mortgage rates. Wonder why Millenials and Gen Z are doom spending? Not getting married? Not starting families? Why is civil unrest growing while the wealth gap is larger than it ever has been in history? It's because this economy is not for us, it never has been since we've been around. It priced us out and left us behind before we got here. This doesn't end well for society at every socioeconomic level..

You’re still blaming the pandemic? The 3 top job sectors will never build anything. How many jobs can the government keep filling? Those jobs will all just add to more inflation for the rest of us.

I disagree. Having a bunch of unemployed people wandering around isn't good for our economy regardless of interest rate.
@bps7209
@bps7209 15 күн бұрын
@@curtispaul9717 why would they be unemployed? There’s enough jobs out there. Why should we run up our national debt to supply people with government supplied jobs. Unless it’s not as good as everyone pretends it to be. The IRA with inflation figured in is bigger than the New Deal was during the Great Depression. That makes no sense. JS

@0:40 unemployment is the point. “Softening labor markets,” interest rates don’t stop supply-side greedflation. Powell is coming for our homes and jobs.

What are you talking about man take a macro economics course…. blaming it on greed? everything else cost more what do you think is going in the economy? there is more liquidity ( cash ) flowing in the economy, there isn’t greed…It’s higher labor cost, higher material cost, get it together, bro. Adding more water to a pool doesn’t the pool deeper for some, it makes it deeper for everyone 😅
