I love this siren, easily one of my favorites! I really like the hi-lo tone.

Hoping you see this, but I have this exact model. I want to wire ONLY THE HORN AND SIREN and I have it direct connect to the battery, but its only killed the battery after about three hours as my truck was off. How can I negate this?
@allintodrumsandguns6 жыл бұрын
Lliam Rosencrans Hmm, not sure why it’s draining the battery. I’ve had mine fully connected to my external battery for days and it has never killed it that quickly. I would check your unit to make sure that it is not running a function while under power. Another idea would be to tie in your power with your ignition, so the siren is only on when your truck is on. (Most police vehicles do it that way.) If you have an external battery, I would connect it to that and see if it drains the battery that quickly too. (Then you know that the issue is with the siren console.) Just to cover your bases, I would double check your truck battery and make sure it is not in need of replacement. Hope that helps.

Lliam Rosencrans if you want to check if the siren is drawing current even when the module is supposed to be off, you can connect one terminal directly to the battery, and hook the other one up in series with a multimeter set to measure current. Basically just connect a wire (positive or negative) to one of the leads on a multimeter, and connect the other lead to the battery terminal.

I know this is an old comment but what our patrol vehicles have to prevent that problem is a Havis ChargeGuard that killed the output either after a predetermined time or once the battery voltage gets close to being too low to start the car back up. The ChargeGuard is about $80 but it is money well spent.

I know I'm really resurrecting an old video, but are there any distinguishable traits/model numbers that FS TMs carry to identify if they come with the trademark "Hetro" Hi-Lo ringing?
@allintodrumsandguns5 жыл бұрын
Sorry, this one got by me. I believe all Touchmasters have the "Hetro" tone, unless specifically ordered not to have it. There are 4 models I know of: UTM1, UTM4, UTM4 (W /OPTN9), and UTMPA6 (AIR HORN ONLY).

Where is the external-switch connected on the back side? ( Yelp )

It’s connected between the “rls” and “horn ring (12)” terminals.

What are you guys using to put over the lights switch mines missing the piece that comes on it and id like to put something over it so its not just an metal piece/
@allintodrumsandguns7 жыл бұрын
0111Fireman At the time I shot this video, I had the same problem. However, I found that small metal piece you see here and painted it red. Eventually I found a slide switch knob set on eBay for $10 (you can see it in my later video Touchmaster Update) and that solved my problem.
