Knowing & admitting you need help is one thing. It can be a process to find the willingness to actually take the first step in coming out of victimhood. I'm grateful he got another chance to work with you & believe his leap of faith will pay off in countless ways.

Well said. Some of the greatest success stories we’ve ever had were from people who initially reached out, went dark, then came back and went all in.

Im in the sfv also, went through over a year in litigation and was looking at 3 years in state. Every day was a different worry and anxiety and dealing with an attorney that only called me about 3 times during that whole time. Caught a break and a different plea deal and i am now getting ready to turn myself in January to do 3 months in county for my first time ever.

I bet he serves 12 mos on 40 mo sentence (12 rdap - 12 fsa credits - 6 mo good time). I totally understand. The hard part is working through the stages of grief before sentencing. Prison is actually not bad (like summer camp for dads).

Whoever is reading this, this information is inaccurate. To begin, how can he serve six months if the drug program is nine months?

People go online totally ignorant of federal sentencing guidelines. 40 month sentence means the salesman will serve most of that time. My guess is you get one month a year for good behavior. So, he will serve 36 months and then the half way house is his last six months but you guys know more than I on this issue. Bottom line: he’ll be locked up in federal prison 36 or 37 months and maybe the last few months half way house. Clueless jerks post stuff all the time not knowing that they are talking about.

The salesman is scared. He has been shamed. He has lost social status. He is John R. Dog Poop and it is hard to fall down the social ladder like this man has done. At least he is now a “do-er” and getting stuff done and what he is finding out is most people want to help him like his lawyer but you got to ask for it. The salesman is just overwhelmed with a loss of status and freedom and it is tough to take.

@@tod3msn he must prepare regardless of how he is feeling.

@@tod3msn not correct either. He will get 15% good time credits, then up to 12 months off if he completes substance abuse program. First step act credits and half way house could get him out in 12-15 months on a 41 month sentence. That’s my point: it’s not the prison term that’s as relevant; what’s life like after prison? For most, misery. Preparing now makes life easier for the hardest part: life after prison. Thanks for always contributing to our community. I value your input.
