Love it, the 757 makes a great cargo aircraft. Would be interesting to see more time lapse videos of other aircraft. I would imagine the 777 and MD11 to be interesting to watch!

Hated working on these 757’s the belly’s sucked and topside is ridiculous the way cans need to be offloaded no space to sneak thru the sides.

3 ways the full or mostly full containers go, depending on ultimate destination, , 1) aircraft directly to other aircraft, 2) aircraft into the airport sort facility, 3) trucked directly to substations, ( in Chicago area, you may have 16 substations and there sorted into smaller delivery trucks (which bring the pkgs to you or your business.)

A container, a can, a ULD. They hold all the boxes and Overnight letters (cargo or freight!) No people today !

Quiet?? ~ I Don't think FedEx is loading wide-body AMJ's or AAD's on a B-757. Those cans (ULD's) are SAA's and AYY's.☺ (for Narrow-body's)

Aircraft gets enough gas at MEM to make it back home. Only time we get gas is if there is a delay or routing change.

Why do the pilots stay inside the plane the whole time? Do they not have a lounge where they could hang-out inside the FedEx building or something. Maybe take a shower?

NinjaAttacks the flight is very short, and the turn on the ground is short as well. They do their paperwork, eat their crew meals and head back out. There is no nearby building, although we would drive them back to the building if they wanted to go.

Oh, that makes a lot of sense. I didn't think about the shorter routes, it would not be that efficient if they got off to do things every single time. Thank you for letting me know, and sorry for my ignorance.

Also keep in mind there is an onboard bathroom, and fedex has crew meals onboard when the pilots show up in the morning. One of them always gets off to do a walkaround, sometimes both get off. It just all depends on what is going on! Thanks for watching!

2 things - Nice time lapse- 1- Shouldn't you mention it's an Offload/ or Download *AND* an Upload ? Both? 2- :55 mins is a slow turn around (:45 mins !).. no? and its' *FedEx* ! not -Fedex- Capital E ! sorry that was 4. ☺

All these freight unloading videos are for shipments of big silver boxes. What gives?

It's the equivalent of a container on a ship - packing one of those before hand with all the different boxes and containers makes loading/unloarding the plane much easier, and safer since the load won't shift around.
