30 years for launderng 336,000,000 dollars in crypro.

30 years for any crime that: 1. involved no violence, 2. has no victims actually named in the PSR. It is over the top. Especially when we have seen studies come out that say long sentences do nothing to curb criminality to begin with.

BTC is everything except private. What a ridiculous sentence! How is this even illegal?
@mx3383 ай бұрын
Because he is not following money laundering laws, simple as that.

20,000 pages of laws are enacted by congress, ever 2 years. Nobody follows all the laws, because nobody actually knows them. the people who create them exempt themselves.

Completely agree with everything you said man. And such a ridiculous sentence to chase.

Why do people even bother with bitcoin ? It’s more traceable than cash

Savings. I can save outside the system with BTC.

The only thing a bureaucracy cares about is enlarging itself. Everything it says or does is in service of this goal. Social benefits, if any, are incidental. In this case, the issue is tax evasion -- the only crime a government considers unforgivable.

Great vid, I love your channel. BTW: there's a scammer in some of the comments and replies. They do it on every bitcoin related videos. Take care and have a great weekend.

Another issue is, who's putting so called 'clean' btc into a mixer? Id say theres much more tainted btc in the mix, no guarantee that the btc you get hasn't been used for something illegal. Would be hard to pin it on you instead of the previous owner, but not impossible

By doing copious amounts of research, and building everything from scratch.

BS And then we have the XRP stans trying to get in bed with the 3 letter boys so they can get their Bag. I am a XMR Stan and only use lightning with people I know, but it's sad with such a ridiculous sentence

Roman isn't just one little guy, he laundered 336,000,000 dollars worth in crypto, that's very much equivilant to a financial company, because that's what he ran, and he should be treated accordingly.
@Sam_Bent3 ай бұрын
Here we agree. The example I provided in the video was just one but there are many examples of financial companies that have done this amount of business or infinitely more and nobody in the company was given 30 years, or even any prison time whatsoever. Thank you again for taking the time to comment! I enjoy people who disagree with my point of view as I feel it helps my point of view be a bit more well-rounded seeing opposing points of view like this.
