An improvised arrangement of the late Richard Sherman and his brother Robert's song, Feed the Birds, from the 1964 Disney classic, "Mary Poppins."
This was recorded in January of 2024 in Galway Cathedral, Galway, Ireland, and serves as my tribute to Richard Sherman, one of the first musical legends I met after moving to Los Angeles in 2016.

Clearly this song is for the birds. No. Wait. This song is for all of us to remember one of the wonderful compositions of the late Richard and Robert Sherman. Well done Aaron! Thank you. 🙏 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

My heart hurts every time I hear this song it’s so beautiful! This time was no exception. Aaron, you played this so thoughtfully and with such tenderness! This was a lovely tribute to Richard Sherman and even more meaningful that you interjected photos, video of him singing at the piano, movie scenes, and you standing with him at the end of the tribute! I would never have known that you recorded this song months before, when you were in Ireland~ obviously it was meant to be!

Aaron, my friend, you are one of those rare individuals that not only has remarkable skills but can draw out and present the soul of the music you create. This is a great gift. Thank you for sharing the magic with us! It was a Walt favorite and one of mine as well.

Those two brothers were brilliant in their creative output, and each of their film scores has at least one of these songs that truly sticks with the soul afterward. This is indeed the one in Mary Poppins. #GreenFeathers

I just hope that more young people will take up the organ to allow those churches with pipe organs to continue to be played. I grew up in a UCC church in downtown Indy. We had the same organist from my birth 1947 until after I entered the Air Force in 1966. In 1959 , myself and 27 other 12 yr Olds were confirmed at Easter. We had to pick a hymn. We picked "A mighty fortress is our god." The organ was large. When we got to the last verse, Mallory had the organ tall out. It was great

Wonderful videography, Aaron, and a reverential improvisation in tribute to the late, great Richard Sherman. Although P L Travers might not have approved of the genius of the songs that really made the 'Mary Poppins' movie magical, millions and millions of children (and adults) over the years from 1964 onwards have been enchanted by their songs, which have had immediate and lasting appeal (I remember going to the cinema when I was 6 to see the film when it was released and the 'Mary Poppins Song Book' was an early addition to the piano pieces I first learned). And how special for you to have met the man in person - a photograph to cherish for certain. Bravo!

It was certainly a treasure to have the two brother composers walk this earth and give us such wonderful memories. And they're full of surprises, like when "Spoonful of Sugar helps the medicine go down," the melody goes UP instead. I love this kind of creativity! Thanks for your kind words, Graham!

As I sit here enjoying this wonderful song, my mind keeps going to what a Master Walt Disney was. Whether it was the movies, the theme parks, or Mickey Mouse, his life creating joy is unmatched as far as I can tell.

Real men are allowed to cry! Sometimes... And as I was editing this video together, I almost did this myself. It's what we musicians hope to do, to speak to the soul. Thank you for telling me this, it makes my day to know this music reached you in an emotional way 😊
