This game is a complete exaggeration to magnify the issues with news sources that play up certain negative content, while burying positive content. Although, I do agree with the videos message of most positivity is ignored and deemed boring when it is actually important.

As a journalist myself, I see this sort of behavior a lot. I do my best to try and highlight all the positivity and normal things people miss in their lives, but the media often depends on "viral" news to make headlines. This news thing reminds me of a time when I asked my parents for support, but they didn't let me go to a safe country in the Middle East, when my friend living there needed my company. It wasn't an issue of money. I told them I'd pay them back, and they confirmed they had the money. I know the country is a safe place - it's filled with expats, it's a tiny island where people from all over the world go on vacation. But it's in the Middle East. They looked it up online, apparently, and concluded that it was too dangerous, because for every good news they could find, there were three bad news articles. Because every so often some people complain. This led them to believe that it's not a good place to be - ironic, as we lived in Chicago, currently known for shootings and murder! I tried to explain to them that of course they see bad news, it wouldn't have made it on the news otherwise, but they didn't listen... I understand they were worried, but they knew nothing about the place and trusted biased news outlets instead of me, so it pissed me off :/ On top of that, they suggested that we pay for that friend's plane ticket, so he can come over instead and guess what - his parents wouldn't let him go because they heard on the news that Chicago is a very dangerous place. The place that my parents wouldn't hesitate twice about sending me, seeing as we lived there very safely and comfortably. And so, my friend ended up falling seriously depressed... PLEASE, PEOPLE, DON'T TRUST EVERYTHING YOU SEE ON THE NEWS. Be careful, sure, but also use your own intelligence to make judgments, not just what the news try to feed you!

in the quran there is 134 versus about violence towards others and how it should be followed just as that but im not here to say you or anyone you know are terrorists im just here to let you know that since the beginning of Islam it has caused massive wars
@TheBeanBunny7 жыл бұрын
Deus Vult!! I think you need to educate yourself then, wherever violence is mentioned in the Quran, it is frowned upon, our Prophet said that if a man kills another, it is as if he killed all of mankind, so why don't you go and uh educate yourself, also a little bit of correction, wars were a seriously common thing in the past, there were crusades by Christians and other wars by other religions, so it is safe to say, no religion allows violence, war is just a thing of humans
@seraphthesage30337 жыл бұрын
Ahmad Zubair correction, crusades were by the Roman Catholics (Christians were still being put to death during that time) and they were liberating Jerusalem from under who's control? The Muslims, who took it in war. A war, that was declared by the prophet Muhammad, why declare war? Because not everyone would hear or believe his message, so he would force them, through war. His army started with their enemies, the Jews, and sacked Jerusalem, then started moving towards Italy, and on September 11th of that year, the Italians held the line, and stopped the takeover of their capital city, and pushed the muslims out. This is history, and it has had at one point influenced the future, 9/11 being the biggest example.

This game means media controls us nowadays, because it is common to us people to access information around the globe and even people could create stuff with it, to get entertain by somethings that may or may not be real but for whatever reason we make news that is not real because media now a days is easy to manipulate. There’s hackers, fake news, terrorism and many more. Just like the game’s title, “We Become What We Behold”, we create what we believe and what we put in any social media platforms or anything that we use to share information is what others may or may not believe.

wow. Speechless. And what you said at the end is true. Minorities are labeled just for bad people which belong to the minority. As it is said with muslims, but it happens everywhere. In my personal case, I'm from Colombia, and I think we've been labeled as "drug dealers" or something like that because this country suffered a lot of this problem in the 80's (Pablo Escobar n stuff) and sadly the reality is like that, but we should not normalize this kind of situations because is unfair an problematic to the others. Greetings, J.
@yuewingman4567 жыл бұрын
Flurry McPants not only minorities are labeled tho. I believe a lot of white people were treated unfairly as well because in a conflict between a majority and a minority, the majority is always at fault. Which is an irony, because that's racism, which is what we want to prevent to begin with by supporting minorities, not perpetuating it.
@balancewod18647 жыл бұрын
Flurry McPants I thought it's humanity in general. I don't care who's side people are on but if they keep arguing and stuff this thing might just as well happen. Now.. problem is who is the "circle guy with hat" that is tearing us all apart?
@BustasGirl17 жыл бұрын
Kitty Standard no unless they are implying that humans are somehow inferior or superior too another it's not actually racism they are just blaming the majority without any excuse so they are at most just being douches

Flurry McPants i hate it when i see tht kind of stuff but as u said thts how it is but its not completely our fault as this game shows the media tends to find something bad and then blow it up to unnecessary levels tht send everyone into mass hysteria and then when tht happens to one side the other side of this injustice begins to have similar feelings of fear or hate and they just go along hating each other its very unfortunate.
@doesthiswork19697 жыл бұрын

Why can't we just except things? We judge every single thing about each other that it tears everyone apart! For instance, my dad had long-ish hair(it was barely to his shoulders). But some people at his job would comment on it and joke about it a lot. It gave my dad anxiety. And last week he decided that he'd cut it all off because he was going to an important meeting and was worried that whoever was there wouldn't think he was odd. My sister dresses "like a boy" and has short hair and people actually think she is a boy. She's not trans or gay, that's just what she feels comfortable in. She went to a drag race with her friend and he had to show the workers his id and my sister's id. The id said her name, but they kept on trying to put a "boy-ish" twist to it(like if you named someone julia and they try to switch it to "Julian"). And any time we're out in public she's scared of going to the bathroom because she's scared of being judged. I want my sister to be able to go out and feel comfortable. I want my dad to be able to have whatever hair length he wants without having an anxiety attack. I just want everyone to feel excepted and loved. Sure there's bad people in the world, but that doesn't mean you have to be scared of everyone. Why can't we be more like Canada?

People don't trust what they don't understand, and with so many things going on in the world, there's hardly enough time to try and put a serious effort into understanding everything Manipulation by others, and extreme loyalty (Usually political party and religious loyalty) also factor into it.
@Traumschleier7 жыл бұрын
I really understand you. A long time ago i had long hair myself and often i get dumb comments about it. The society always say: Be yourself. But if you are yourself and different, you get negative comments. I think often it´s about today that people make others bad, to feel better for themselves.

[Thank you for recognising this is analogous to all perceived differences] It can trickle so far as to reflect superiority amongst the same group; "I'm more traumatised than you" "Yes, you have survived more events, but my trauma has impacted my daily functions by leaving me permanently disabled" It is so easy to hate, because for several generations anger was something to repress ir manipulate. Gen-Z ain't perfect, but I've noticed Zillenials, Z's and AlphaZ have begun to fight against generational traumas, cyclical abuse and self fulfilling prophecies. Gen-Y started this trend, and niw that they're actively seeking out therapy and utilising platforms, they've been a huge help in teaching us how to grow up. Unfortunately, I predict that toxic positivity will be the overswing from conditional hatred and hypernormatism. And so the pendulum will swing back by GenF to value obediency over autonomy.
