Hey buddy - thanks so much! Wow that's really a comprehensive win on all areas for you with this board... I'm really interested in it, but I still have this desire to fly with the Sirus 186 and the paddle, which I did not yet achieve! So probably I will stay with the 7XL Cruzader which I have at the moment... I must admit that honestly ANY of the Cruz boards are so damn cool on the water - the shapes just LOOK mega when they are riding... quite shocked to see that your Lethal is only 3cm shorter at the nose - amazing!
@yohann.roussel11 ай бұрын
I only tried once the flat start with the Sirus XXL and HIPE Cruzader 7'6", it felt achievable but it sure requires some training I have no will to put into it 😁 For the nose length, I was surprised too, but afterwards it seems normal, there is much more length behind the foil than on a Lethal.

I'm interested to know if you think it's helping more like that or with the manual subtitles that I just added to the French version. My understanding is that the Point is better for paddling, more glide and more anti row, while the Diamond offers more stability for the same size.

No it's not. I'm an ambassador so I have a reduced price that's all. I bought one of the first batch like any other client. It happened that they lended me stuff in advance so I can test it : I had the HIPE pro 5'3 for about to weeks like that and they sent me some X-Over, Curve, Veloce and Curve H last spring, those I could do review before they were available and post some videos here.

Great video. I just had a ride on a 6'10 diamond. I am similar weight. I found it very narrow! My back foot toes were hanging over the rail. I was also surprised at how light it felt despite the large size. It was very balanced and i did not feel like I was on a big board at all. I am now looking at a shorter diamond point "xl" just because I want the width to be maintained. Let me know if you think this sounds foolish. Also, did you change your stance / technique for foot switching with the narrower shapes?
@yohann.roussel12 күн бұрын
Yeah I needed a few sessions to fully restore my feet switches. I also added some pads to widen a bit the useable area of the deck. One of the things I aussi had to adapt was the front straps, I used the insert #2 for the 2 front screws and the insert #3 of the center screw to reduce the angle, without that I had trouble with the straps angle

Hi, thanks for this great review and for English version ! do you know or maybe you have some experience if cruzader diamond or point work well with Fone foils?
@yohann.roussel11 ай бұрын
Thanks. I have no direct experience of any FOne foil. One friend who's testing the Sk8 had to correct the rake for his board which has the same angle and placement as the GONG, so maybe you'll have to trim that.

Thanks for the review! It's very helpful as I'm roughly the same weight. If you don't mind, I'd have a couple of questions 🙏 Am I correct that you don't really have anything negative to say about the board? (I'm mainly into riding wind swell and free ride, don't care about freestyle or super light wind, or paddling.) Do you happen to know how Sabfoil foils work with the mast track? (it's long so probably no problem but with my Fanatic sky wing board I need to place the mast all the way forward and even a bit more than that would actually be nice.) Have you by any chance tried the new white cruzader diamond? (The tail shape at least is slightly different and I wonder how it affects things.) Merci beaucomp! 🙏
@yohann.roussel2 ай бұрын
If I look for something bad to say, I would point that it's probably less efficient to take off in super light wind with a giant front, and that the pad was a bit too narrow for my big feet, so I added some more. If I were to order a custom now, it would be the same shape, I would just ask for more square rails on the deck around the feet to increase the available surface to place my feet. I didn't try the new one, it's supposed to be better with small foils and less efficient with giant foils and super light wind.

@raphmermontagne sorry I deleted your comment by mistake 😭 Something like that photos.app.goo.gl/ActVz3JPx9ZMMicg8 The camera stick is a broken fishing pole, the GoPro fixation is attached with sewing thread blocked in epoxy. The small stick is set in the strut before inflating the wing and stay there thanks to the pressure. Attaching the main pole is different on each wing, with handles you can use the 2 side of the back handle, on the UPE 200 wing wish, I pass one strap under the back wish attachement before inflating and I use the harness line attachment point as my second. With the aramid wing I didn't find a suitable way to do it so I bought a Flymount to attach directly on the back of the central strut, the point of view is not as good because I have it mostly blocked by the wing, but it's much quicker to install and remove

The 6.0 and 1000L is the one I am looking for. The shape looks great when considering the trend of all-around boards. Not just for light wind, but also for strong wind and small waves. But I would like to see more reviews, in a variety of conditions, before I buy it. Do you know about other good review such as yours?

Hi, can you please explain the performance in super light wind conditions ? Did you try pure-DW boards -super length, super narrow- and can you compare with this Diamond 6' ? How many knots did you reduce your minimum foilable conditions ? I mean, with the same wing and same foil,compared with a "standard 100 liter board or your legacy low wind board" thanks !
@yohann.roussel11 ай бұрын
I didn't try yet really low wind. I don't really expect to gain that much because I need some support in the wing to keep my balance on the board. What I've experienced so far is : - I'm really confortable to take off in a 12-13kn gust on the Curve XL-H and 6m2, on this session I would have switched to the Curve L-H if I've had more time. With the Lethal 5'3" 105L, in this conditions the XL-H is my absolute minimum. I can fly but each take off is a little achievement and must be done in the biggest gust, with the Cruzader there was no wait, no impression of difficulty. - session with 1.5-2.5m swell 20kn, with the Lethal I would have gone 5m² and be hesitant between Curve L-H and M-H, knowing the M-H would be hard to take off because of the chop and the brevity of the gusts (as soon as you're not on top of the bump, the swell kinda cut the wind). I went with 4m², M-H and nearly never had to wait, the M-H felt big for the take off (the shots where I compare with my buddy with the red wing were taken during this session).

Great review. Looking at diamond as my allround board. But I have a lot of low wind days 8-11. 92kg. Tried diamond 6’3 at decent wind 15-20 and had a feeling I could maybe go with 6’0 but not sure if it will get me back home if wind falls to 5-6 knots. Do you think it’s worth the risk going with 6’0?
@yohann.roussel11 ай бұрын
I can't be sure but I think I would stay on the safe side and keep the 6'3". My impression with mine is that I need some support in the wing to pull the board on the water before it can glide on the water, so I suppose I won't be able to chase really low wind with it

Hi Yohann, regarding the needed powerfull pull in the wing. I'm getting used to my new Lethal (one of the protos). I'm flying a Droid UPE... you a Neutra UPE. Anyways.. How hard do you inflate yours? I could have it a little bit stiffer sometimes, but I'm anxious to go higher than 7to8 psi. Keep having great rides and posting awesome content! 🌊
@yohann.roussel11 ай бұрын
@@apoyeah9491 with an UPE (I don't know if it's true with the aramyd too) you can push to higher pressure, Patrice commented how high they test them, I don't remember but it was more than 15. At first I was pushing mines to 11-12 PSI. I reduced later because I realized I didn't get benefits from pushing so high. So if you feel they could be stiffer, you can push a few more pumps.

@@secondlife7976 for 10 my guess would be +10/20L. for take off in gusts below that, I suppose you need to start thinking about a Point but no board will give you automatic success, you'll need the proper pumping to achieve that. You should ask GONG on the shop chat to get their opinion on that.
