Luv mine. I use it along with a power meter and HRM for Trainerroad sessions in my living room. Puts away nicely. One hunt to make setup just a tad easier. Mark off where you would lock up the roller to the proper length for your bike so no fiddling with adjustments next time. I just used a white paint pen to put a line where I need to lock the rail at.

100% agree with you Chris - I had this turbo for over 2 years now, lots of miles on it and works perfectly. My only comment would be that the front of the bike goes down a bit (vs position on the road) but easy fix putting some piece of wood to evaluate the front.

Good points Chris, well summarised. My take on the resistance because I think people will find this interesting > I've found it's the inertia that takes 4-5 minutes to build. It is likely to do with getting heat through the resistance unit and "loosening" it up. So when you first hop on, the "road feel" and pedal stroke doesn't feel great, it takes a few minutes to build. Important to know if you are doing longer training efforts, make sure you give yourself a solid warm up to get the road feel ticking along (Previously I used a Tacx Neo, so I'm comparing to the top of the line here).

Also anyone with horizontal dropouts on their TT bike will understand the benefit of not having to take the rear wheel out for a warm up!

That's useful to know. Could you also change resistance via your gears? Thanks!

Excellent review. Professional, non-irritating and to the point. God job of addressing pros/cons and intent of use. Keep up the good work. I'm selling my rollers and buying one of these.

@@ChrisMillerCycling i hope you reply to this....could you give any recommendations for someone who would only do sprint training? im currently looking at this option or other rollers with front fixed. but im confused with if i need resistors or not for sprints only.

Chris - you may have already covered "junk miles". I have heard of various types of definitions. Could you explore this and perhaps there is a difference in the term for "weekend warriors", vs club racers, vs NRS, vs continental etc etc

So you don't need a specific trainer tyre with rollers? I do on my turbo trainer but I haven't seen that with rollers before.

HI, I'm looking at purchasing one of these portable trainers for when I'm on the move. I have a wahoo and obviously can't travel with that. I'm uncertain of the difference between the zero drive and the Over Drive options. Can anyone explain - please and thank you!!!

Will it work for a recumbent trike? It should with the front portion removed and only the rollers used for the single rear wheel.

We took a bunch overseas for para track worlds. They were great. Easy for travel and good to use. I hit well over 1000w on it in the warm up so the resistance is enough for most people.

I also found the feel better than a normal trainer didn't feel like those dreaded trainer kms.

Do you think the side-to-side torque on your front forks will cause more problems than a traditional roller?
@ChrisMillerCycling5 жыл бұрын
He man, it really depends on what kind of effort you are doing. Sure, you can't do a sprint effort on the trainer, but anything else you will be fine. As for side-to-side torque, it's not going to be anything more then you achieve on the road, so I can't see that being a problem.
@jarrahfitzgerald27525 жыл бұрын
@@ChrisMillerCycling Thanks for the response! Just figured if the bike fish-tailed at all, then it may be a different kind of flex. But, as you say, it's not for sprint efforts etc. anyway. I saw you were using it again for your bike-fit video too. Keep up the great content. It's always good to see race tactics and strategy play out with in-race footage. Looking forward to more!

Great review Chris... again ! Looks amazing for travelling and warm-ups indeed ! Few question : it works without electricity/plug ? You just build resistance by changing gearing, right ?
@danielvdl75555 жыл бұрын
Yep works without electricity. There is a resistance and non resistance version. The non resistance doesn't change much with changing gears the other one is progressive based on your speed so bigger gear more resistance.
