How much do you spend on the meat itself, or is that in another video? Thanks!

Hi! Thanks so much for your question.☺ I plan on doing a whole other video just on the protein that we feed, but to give you an idea, chicken is still the cheapest meat, with beef, duck, and salmon being more expensive. We personally don't feed poultry because our Berners are sensitive to it so our go-to's are beef, pork and salmon. Right now I'm buying beef with bone for $2.41/lb, and a beef/salmon mix for $2.81/lb. To compare, I could buy the chicken with bone for $2.11/lb. My husband is a hunter so we're lucky in that we get venison in the fall for free, and we also raise our own pork. I hope this helps! Let me know if I can answer anything else for you.

My doodles weigh 55 and 70 pounds. How much raw meat a day for them?
@beautyandtheberners3 ай бұрын
Aww love the doodles! Had a Labradoodle named Libby growing up☺. And great question because it's different than feeding in "cups" like we're used to when feeding kibble. The recommended guidelines for otherwise healthy adult dogs is 2% of their body weight per day in total pounds of food consumed. So your 55lb doodle would get 1.1lbs/day and for your 70lb dog would get 1.4lbs/day. So you'd be looking at 2.5lbs/day total to feed both dogs. Of those 2.5lbs, at least 1.5-2lbs is going to be made up of meat - whether that's muscle meat, organ meat etc. I hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions - always happy to help!

a 200lb dog needs at least 1.5 lbs of meat--- not bones. The amount you have in those bowls would feed a chihauhau

My dogs don’t weigh 200lbs. They’re each 100+. They each get at least 2lbs of meat per day plus the bones and other items I went over in the video. Never had any issues with being under or overweight.
