@@lampoilsalesman Gromit doesn't want to be big, which is why Gromit was becoming angry when he said there was an issue during the production of the cure. But Gromit gave him extra time when he said it would be done by the end of the week. However, Wallace's fatal mistake was making a joke that Gromit should go after Wallace's insulters. Gromit did not like this one bit, as Gromit was already fed up previously from still having to be big. Gromit must have had evil intentions or eldritch energy put into him after or during the process of becoming bigger. So, in Gromit's rage, he proceeded to devour Wallace. Wallace, however, tried to play it off as a joke, which was futile as there was no turning back.

Wallace and Gromit used to be the best of friends back in the day, saving the town every now and then with the aid of Wallace's wacky inventions and Gromit's unheard-of level of intelligence for a dog. They were always together, going on with their lives as any man and his dog would, but things would suddenly change one day. The townspeople mockery of Wallace's inventions was getting to him, Gromit could see and hear that, the countless nights the man shut himself away in his laboratory, crying through busts of anger as he tried to make something that would prove them all wrong, never to be successful. Not even the best of cheeses or Gromit's efforts could cheer him up, the morning routine became dull as Wallace fell more and more under the weather. That was, until one morning, Wallace was suddenly back to his older self! He was happy, cheerful even, and Gromit himself couldn't be happier, he didn't even notice that the bowl of breakfast that morning tasted a little off. That was when things took a turn for the worse. Each and every day from that moment forth, Gromit would scream and howl In pain, his own body contorting and changing in ways he couldn't understand. He would've lost his mind, if not for Wallace's efforts on easing his pain and slowing down the process as much as he could, but he wouldn't manage to stop it until Gromit's transformation reached its final stage. Gromit was huge now, and he didn't have a body anymore, nor arms or legs to speak of, but he could still move, all of his parts could, even when they moved apart, floating about. It took sometime, but Gromit would soon get used to his new self and his new capabilities, but he yearned to return to his usual self, being as he was was no way of living. But despite all that he was going through, Gromit never gave up hope, for he trusted Wallace, his owner, his friend, his family, he was a genius, and he was sure Wallace would find a way to return him to the dog he once was. But with time, that hope started to die out, as the days of Wallace promising that he was working on a cure would become weeks, and then months, and where there once was hope, despair and suspicion settled in. He knew Wallace's capabilities, he knew what that man could whip up, there was no end to his creativity, and he had turned himself into a monster once before, could he had possibly had something to do with Gromit's current painful state? Gromit didn't want to believe it, but as more time passed, his suspicions became stronger, and he became impatient, aggressive even, towards his own master. And eventually, all it took was one slip of the tongue from Wallace to confirm Gromit's fears, he had been betrayed, turned into a weapon of mass destruction by no one else than his only friend. Without hesitation, he would consume Wallace, acting upon his sweet revenge, and by doing so, forsaking any hope of ever returning to normal. He would then proceed to become stationary, not drinking another sip of water nor eating another crumb of food, letting his modified body weaken and decay, yearning now for the sweet release of death.

Gromit, realizing that Wallace has become a monster, kills his owner, making the ultimate sacrifice in the process. Now with the only man able to cure him dead, he's doomed to starve to death alone in his room.

There once was a man who loved to invent, creating new projects and inventions by the day. However, he was constantly ridiculed by people saying that his creations would never work. He would show them. In a frenzy, he made something that everyone would believe, a machine that could make things grow to an incredible size. He decided to try it on his dog. It didn’t work. His dog was now a monster, an enormous creature with no choice but to be locked up in a large room, never to see the light of day. He begged and pleaded to be turned back into a normal dog again, but there was no cure yet. After a few more experiments, a cure for this terrible curse was found. But the man was too far gone at this point, saying that with the power of this beast that he created, he would be able to destroy everyone that had laughed at him before. The dog was left with no choice but to kill the man who loved him so dearly, his best friend since he was a puppy. Sometimes you can still hear the dog’s desperate cries, as the only hope for a cure was gone forever. Now he would be stuck like this, until the end of time.

You know why Gromit killed Wallace. Becuase what he said made Gromit realize he was lying about having a cure. Becuase if he had a cure he wouldn't be attempting to use him. Gromit's name came about by Nick Park's older brother who was an electrician and could often be heard talking about grommets - rings or washers used in the trade, Nick thought this would make a great name for his canine creation.
