Aww the ears are back💞. Gurl, I ordered some of those hornworms, was so excited to feed them to my babies,,but the only one who would go near them was my psycho A gen🙄. But even she was leary of it and stalked it for a good five mins🙄. All the other babies threw threat postures and ran. Even my usually calm T's went nuts, kicking hairs constantly and almost flipping onto their backs. It was kinda hilarious to watch them, lol. I love your hofmanni Kat, she is beautiful. Tyfs God bless you

Love the ears! It is 3.20 am in Australia and I just tried to film one of my male huntsmans moulting and your video popped up!!! Sadly my camera is dying and I missed all the best parts like when he so delicately cleaned each leg of his old moult. Not one person I know wants to see or hear about that so I must get a new camera ASAP and get my channel going. So hopefully all us spider people can talk about these things among ourselves and noone will think it is weird. Lol.
@alexgreen29184 жыл бұрын
she needs to get some aussie spiders, especially our t's since they're very aggro. not many overseas people are interested in them sadly. unless its because of our import and export laws
@fangsnscalesdownunder39414 жыл бұрын
@@alexgreen2918 I do know theres some in the USA and maybe canada but I think they might be hard to come by. None of mine are aggressive in fact I very rarely see them at all they stay in their tunnels and take the food after I leave and turn the lights off the huntsmans are much more entertaining

More podcasts from you and Martin 👍 Just listened to the latest one and it was good. I feel like you guys missed out one of the best feeders though. The Locust. They're cleaner than crickets and roaches and safer as well. Pretty much all the crickets in the hobby as feeders are a type of field cricket, which are formidable predators in their own right. Roaches are omnivores and will scavenge so the potential is there for them to attack a vulnerable T. The Locusts we have as feeders are completely herbivorous so won't predate on a T at all ☺️

I'm curious. What does it mean to be 'old world' and 'new world'? Is like a way of classifying the type of tarantulas that are good for beginners or experienced keepers. I'm genuinely curious
@kaidengathings30964 жыл бұрын
New Worlds all come from the western hemisphere(The Americas) and Old Worlds from eastern(Asia, Africa, Europe, Australia) New worlds are considered better for beginners, as they tend to be more docile. There's more to the subject (venom potency, speed, defesnivness, urticulating hairs) but that's really about it at the end of the day.

Hi TK! Love the geodes! ::sparkles:: 😍🤩Question- do you (or any keepers) know what the evolutionary benefit or purpose the horn serves on the horned T species? It doesn’t seem to have a function, eg it’s not for males to display or use for combat, since the females have impressive horns themselves. Any idea?? Thanks!
@tarantulakat4 жыл бұрын
you know I thought about going into it in this video but felt like I needed to do more research and then dedicate a whole video to the topic. That said, as far as I know, no one is sure of why they have horns and it might have to do with storing water or hydration
