Thank you for putting this in words. I've been in a depression hole and my whole day is spent thinking about the possibilities of creating and then it's 9pm and I haven't lifted a finger. All of that pressure from myself, the social media "collective" artist doing it all, and self doubt really get to me. But taking it slowly and finding that time to create for myself is what matters and makes it fun again. Rooting for you and a healthy relationship with creating ❤

i feel like i get life block (overwhelmed by seeing ppl do so much in life) or lately more specifically-language block from looking at all the studyblrs and very helpful accounts showing you their methods + tips for language learning--but i get very overwhelmed similar to you tiffany and it makes me not want to learn the language anymore 😩. telling myself there’s no rush, gathering my resources + just generally doing what i can and just taking care of myself in general helps me the most (and cutting back on social media too…still in the process of that). THANK YOU FOR SHARING TIFFANY!! :) i love any and all ur content!!

Thank you for sharing this, as an artist myself, I absolutely find "being motivated" a struggle in lots of ways. There are times where I really need to just seat down and accept that "doing nothing" is a form of healing as well. I sooo relate to the fact that there are lots of times where we have "Time" but that time is always so busy with thoughts that it ends up non being free time at all. I also really like these slow-pace kinda vlogs as well, everything is just so cute and inspiring!

This video came at the right time! I am feeling down because my art is not reaching people, resulting in me not wanting to do anything creative. So you inspired me to take care of myself today - do my hair, do my nails, wear something that makes me very happy, etc. + do something creative just for me. Thank you for that!

I really related to what you said towards the end about seeing everyone else being productive and not feeling productive. It's reassuring to know that other artists struggle with it too, no matter how big or small of an online presence you have! I'm slowly trying to climb out of an art rut right now, so this vid was perfect for my current mindset. Thanks for sharing chill vids like this!

I never like KZbin videos. I liked just for the "ew" moment at the end 😂 For real tho, feel that artist block phase real hard since the Covid times began. There's so many artists that "popped off" with all the time at home we had. It's been feeding into my already existing burnout since finishing college; seeing all the "successful" "competition" out there. You become accepting of the fact that looking at art is enough rather than doing the art making. It's about how you reframe the mindset of looking at art into having it inspire you to get up and make your own. But it's all a personal journey navigating what that actually means to you in the moment because it'll happen multiple times throughout your life/career/hobby, and each instance will be different from the last. Good luck to all the artists out there! Whether currently blocked or soon to be! lol (including me)

I hope you are feeling better now, Tiffany. :) I've been watching your vlogs recently and really enjoying it. I hope you won't feel pressured that you have to create packing order vlogs, drawing vlogs all the time, your followers are your followers because we enjoy seeing you as you and what you like to share to world. :) I can totally relate to how you feel. I'm transitioning to pattern design and discovering my art from fashion design and it is very hard. I feel like a total beginner and zero at drawing again. I do feel 50/50 sometimes when looking at other peoples' works. At some point, I feel happy looking at the wonderful creations and looking forward to creating my own art and designs. On the other hand, I feel overwhelmed and extremely slow with my progress shifting and transitioning to surface pattern design and making art seeing how good other peoples' works are. My inner thoughts and feelings are always battling that it makes me want to stay away from socmed or feel paralyzed for doing anything towards my creative dream. Most of the times what I will do is step away from socmed for a while, be aware of my feelings and write them down, and do something outside of what I'm supposed to be doing (practicing my watercolor, design classes) and just let myself breathe. I try not to force myself but I also set kind of deadline and try to picture my goals and where I want to be and make it bigger than my current negative feelings. Lol it does take some time, but it works for me. Anyways, looking forward to your vlog posts no matter what it is. Hugs!

I just found your channel. I loved this post and I know I'm going to love your content. I love authentic artists. The kind that are honest and don't do hype. I'm kinda awkward and enjoy seeing how other artists deal with every day life, you know. So I think that vlogs are a good way to show that. And it's ok to do ordinary and boring too because that's real life. I hope that makes sense. Anyway, I'm off to watch some more of your videos. I've just discovered illustration and using gouache, watercolour and working small. I put so much pressure on myself thinking I was going to eventually have these amazing large works but right now that's just not me. I've tapped into a more playful way of working and it's fun. The pressure is off and I can just explore. I think that freedom is what I've wanted for the longest time. Anyway, thanks for being you and sharing it with us. Warm regards from Australia 🦘. Rachelle

Don't worry about others as competition because they aren't you and don't have what you have....your designs are from your heart and that's what makes them unique and what people love. As you said, don't force yourself to draw etc. because it will just create more stress for you and it becomes a never-ending cycle. Your drawings are important for your business, but you will always have supporters, even if you take time in brining new designs. I am not an artist and never have been (artistic/creative skills of a small child...can't sing, dance, draw, write...etc etc) but I really admire and respect those that are good at it, so it makes me happy to see your videos and your work.....I originally subscribed from an organization/cleaning video I think (cause I also live vicariously through youtube for having a clean and organized house since the fam can't keep it that way! lol)

I literally had the same feeling about social media. It’s also not fun for me anymore, my art doesn’t get the reach (even if I make short tiktok/reels), it’s harder to find others and there’s too many bots now. It’s like this constant stress to post weekly if not daily and I’ve been grinding at it for months now. I was making it ahead of time, but life threw me some challenges and it’s been hard to keep up with! I’m thinking of taking a break from it so I can focus on my art and new items in my shop. I also need to do a whole new website rebrand/refresh. I don’t want to quit social media persay, but I feel like the effort I’ve been putting in isn’t paying off and it’s frustrating. I’m sick of the ads for weird things and stolen memes. I’m glad I’m not the only one because I was feeling like a failure that couldn’t keep up. Make whatever you want, this is still the life of an artist, we’re not always creating and working-if we did we’d burn out and hurt ourselves! Also with art block, we have ebbs and flows, I cannot force it but for me what helps is to do studies. I do have been straying from my cutesy stuff, I’ve been making a lot of darker art and there’s nothing wrong with that. I find it to be more of a challenge and intune with how I’m feeling.

Hey, first vlog with you! I feel your pain, I was in art block for over 10 years! Yikes! I don't have an art degree but took a lot of fine art classes. Since this April I have been teaching myself digital art with procreate. So now I have so many ideas I can't stop. I was trying other art styles, this kinda jump started my imposter syndrome but pushed me to keep going. I can' stop or keep up now andI have so many ideas. So, maybe, do a reverse psychology on yourself and draw in a style you don't know and I'll bet you will revive your art again. Anyway, thanks so much for being honest on your vlog. I am now a subscriber! YAY!!! See you in the next one!!!😀

yeah art block sucks. I'm also in a very looooong one right now :/ Being way to busy with my kids as well. Which does not help. What does help me is doing what other artist are doing, mindless sometimes I change my mindset to a vibe where I do not make art to impress (myself), but just to make something. Like your vlog is very inspiring for me and even with an art block I am going to draw a robotflower right know ;) Just to get myself going and it doesn't have to become anything nice or impressive or whatever. Having fun for the fun is enhough. So I would say... draw mice on icecubes with gemstones and a giant cactus ;) How does that feel? I challenge you :P

The comparison thing is so deadly. You (the impersonal you) are pulling ideas and art from your inner person, and no one else is you. You may see things that “inspire” you, but I think they merely spark and pull the things already in you. You were created by a creative God, so what else can you do but reflect that. I suppose that’s why when you go looking at nature or at antique and thrift stores you see familiar forms, colors, motifs etc. that spark your creative self to express them from your own spirit. Just a thought from an old artist.
