Is there a reason your keeping this specie of wild betta seperated? Ive noticed others that keep anything but splendens keep them communally without issue as the wild arent as aggressive and can be housed together. The reason im wondering is because i was wanting to get a type of wild betta but do like others and let them live together and am wondering if this one is more aggressive than the other wilds or should i cross this specie off the list? Thank you for an informative video

Betta mahachai can be kept together as they grow out for a long time, but I'm choosing to jar a few so I can grow them out a little faster. Its my first time growing them out so I'm still figuring it out ..maybe next time I'll keep them together longer 😊

Ive recently taken an interest more in the wild than big coloured spledens. Good to know these would still be a possibilty for a community in my tank

Can you breed betas in a 20 gallon? Bc I have one that’s just laying around and I want to breed my betas.

The bigger the tank the harder it is to feed the fry. If you got a divider from lifewithpets (the one with no holes) you can section off the 20 gal and make a smaller space that you can then open up after the fry are a few weeks old.

I thought these fishes prefer hard water over acidic tanin water

I have pretty hard tap water so adding tanins does not do much besides provide some beneficial things like humic substances. If I wanted to the water to be acidic I would have to use RO or rain water plus tannins
