Feeding the World by Reducing Food Waste | Elena Matsui | TEDxGrandForks

One-third of the world’s food either spoils or gets thrown away before it ever reaches a plate. With 1.2 billion people living without enough food and a population expected to increase by 2 billion by 2050, we can't afford to allow these losses to continue. Fortunately, the problem of food waste is preventable, and solutions already exist. Together with a range of partners, The Rockefeller Foundation is working to cut food loss in half to ensure more food gets to more people.
As a member of the Strategy and Strategic Planning team, Ms. Matsui supports the Rockefeller Foundation’s teams in developing new programmatic initiatives and with strategic planning, risk mitigation, and impact assessment for initiatives currently in execution. Ms. Matsui holds a B.A. from Harvard University in Visual and Environmental Studies and a Masters of International Affairs in economic development and international conflict resolution from Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs.
