Love the enthusiasm of this talk! It is true that if we all do a little bit it will help. But these ideas and technologies are also a little bit superficial. How long will it be until the mass poor people living in India, Africa, South America, China etc be able to use robotics or grow their own meat with 3D printing? Scientific innovations such as this are exciting, but are probably superfluous to our needs. Its ideas of reducing waste and moving away from plastics are bang on. Getting young people interested in this area by flying them around the world is positive, but it just doesn't feel right, when millions of people the same age are malnourished, live on under $1.50 a day.

I also had an eating disorder, and as a result, became very interested in food systems. Even though I am just a snowflake in the avalanche, I feel a sense of responsibility and commitment to find the solutions to our food problems as well. I look up to your story!

The vedio is really good. I could take some good ideas. Actually I have innovated. Food is a main essential thing for our healthy life.. But if you take more artificial foods or fast food. We have to think about more than one time. Cuz it's mainly affected for our healthy lifestyle. And food innovations can use for developing these kinds of things. Thanks....

Poh Yee Joe_SEU224 This is a very exciting and innovative speech. Chiara Cecchini and her company Future Food Institute approach the food system differently, taking a more holistic and practical approach to making food more accessible. In this video, she shares her thoughts on how innovation can improve our food system. I am particularly interested in the technique of labeling food in the refrigerator. People get the expiration date of the food in the fridge and are prompted to what they should eat each day to avoid waste. I think this one is particularly useful. But in my opinion, not every country has enough resources and technology to use these innovative solutions.

CHUAH XIN MAN_SEU224 I was impressed by the quote of 'Food is the problem, but food also can be the solution' from the speaker. Yes, I am so lucky that I was born in a place where food is accessible for everyone and we don't need to starve. Therefore, the place where food is easy to get will on the contrary brings up the problem of food wasting. The speaker and the team have took a great initiative by conducting a 60-days food innovation global mission and successfully collected a variety of ideas from different innovation hubs which will then bring some changes and improvements to our food system. The speaker has also emphasized that food waste can have a new value by upcycling. We as a human need to bear in mind that our simple action of 'eat with purpose, consume with purpose' can have a significant impact on the consequences when it comes in bulk.

POK SHENG YAN_SEU224 The population of human will only increasing because of the advance technologies. Hence, we need to find a way to maintain and improve our food systems. In the speech, the sustainable way promote by Cecchini is good and innovative, but it is also important that we enhance our education on the younger generation such as importance of not wasting the food and passing on the agricultural knowledges of so that they can innovate and think a more advance way to secure food supply in the future.

I also like you the professors and scientists in west to help the Africans and especially South Sudan to have access for advance technology in the field of agriculture to enable the people who are thirsty of participating in agriculture activities to do their part . The willing people like me and other in my hard working community in South Sudan. We are naturally the farmers (traditional farmers). But are lacking modern agricultural skills and machines that involves in organic and hydroponic agriculture.

Zarith Ain_SEU224 This presentation was so interesting on topic about future of food - feeding the world in a sustainable way by Chiara Cecchini. From this video we can see that food is an important thing for human survival. Food system is presenting all around the world and also the solutions being the number one sector in terms of people who are working there. We can cut in half our footprint in this planet by cut plastic bottles for water and fit our conception of meat that can decreased 75% in terms of green gas emissions and 70% in terms of water consumption.

SYLVIA TEOH JIA YI_SEU224 The video is amazing. I can understand how Chiara Cecchini explains about feeding the world in a sustainable way. I was amazed to know that nowadays people using technologies to recycle food waste and turn into a better usage rather than throwing it away. Furthermore, i was acknowledge that how different sustainable ways to consume food and also be more mindful of what and how i eat. For example, i get to learn that sources of protein not only come from meat, but also from insects. Proteins from insects are actually becoming more and more recognized in some countries. Maybe in the future who knows that insects might be the one to replace meat varieties as everything is possible. Moreover, we know that the we human contribute a lot of waste everyday in our daily lives and we need to be more careful about this. To conclude all of this, Chiara Cecchini also said that we humans can contribute and do a little bit in order to change our world into a better one. After this video, i just feel amazing because i learnt something new and gain new knowledge regarding about us human and what is the world happening now.

LEE SZE YUN_SEU224 It is an amazing talk! In this video, Chiara Cecchini has shared her experience in leading research, education and design of innovative solutions in the food system with her institution Future Food to make this planet become more sustainable and food accessible. One of their main initiatives is the 60-day global food innovation mission, for which they have successfully collected a variety of ideas from different innovation hubs. Besides, she describes what our future food will look like and how new innovation in food can improve the food system and reduce waste. I found that her ideas will eventually be beneficial to our future environment, but it may take longer for them to become a reality all over the world because not every country has the resources to develop these innovations. At the end of this video, she mentioned that if each of us on this planet played our role in the world, even if it was as simple as reducing the use of plastics, the world would be more inclusive and sustainable.

LEE YING YING_SEU224 A good explanation of the future of food. Use robotics and 3D printing to produce meat without animals, including all the proteins that we need. In the future, natural resources will become scarce, so I think this is a good solution, but to implement it, we need to pay more attention to the development of science and technology. We all have to be responsible for taking care of our health and the natural world.

LEE JOEY LENG_SEU224 Interesting and insightful video. I never thought that food would have such a big impact to our loves, prior from watching this video. Starting from an eating disorder, to creating an organization and travelling the world to learn more about food, this video showed me different sustainable ways in order to consume food- to be more mindful of what I eat. Maybe in the future, insects can be consumed as our daily menu, more creative ways to consume food would be produced and also food waste can be decreased. All in all, I hope that everyone can play their part in the world, even as small as reusing a plastic bottle, would help lessen our carbon footprint and make the world more sustainable, for our future generations.

TEOH YEE YEN_SEU224 It was a very good speech! I learned a lot of ideas and knowledges through this speech such as enhance our food system, leverage innovation to improve our food system, ways to provide nutritious food without destroying our planet. I realized that we faced some challenges such as labor. Food technology innovation such as using robotics to help us grow the food more efficiently, robots will help to pick fruits and vegetables much faster than we can. 3D printing technology also one of technolgy innovation, mainly to help seed and water the plants. They are all remotely controlled helped us to increase the productivity, save time, save the manpower and labor. I am fortunate to be able to learn these knowledges while I was studying and I will try my best to contribute to the sustainable of our food system in the future too.

love the idea and the passion, however the current food system is not inclusive yet. Healthy food and plant-based food is inaccessible for many. Even the current alternative food movement often neglect the class structure and gentrify POC culture and turning it into something trendy, which results in erasure of culture and at the end, lowering food diversity consequently, the extinction of many food practices & ingredients (esp.those cultural and indigineous origin)

JUNIE TEOH SHU PING_SEU 224 Summary: In this video, it talks about the Journey around the future of food. First of all, the chapter one in this video is proteins are the new commodity. Proteins are not the only challenges in the food system. The second chapter is waste is the another challenge in the food system. However, after watching this video, I have learned in the second chapter is waste can be the new value. I have learned about the ways to tackle the waste or leftover for food. For example, we can use the peels of oranges, then we use some technologies to make some design, like the texture out of it textile. As a result, it may looks fashion and prevent waste in the food, on the other hand to create a new value from the waste. The third chapter is cities is a new farms. I have gain some lessons about what is the ways to make cities food sustainable, accountable and reliable food system. Everyone of us live in the cities can try to use a box to grow some good by using the ponics. As a result, it not only can helps to beauty the environment, it also can grow some food for us. Next is Food is the problem for the people who are in obesity or overweight but at the same time food is crucial, food is the solution for people who are in hungry and starving. To conclude, all of us plays an important role on this earth. It is the time to change. The future is on our hand. Therefore, we must responsible and work hand together to make the changes for the whole world to lead a better and brighter future. No more pollution, no more disaster in the food system, no water consumption, peace.

Liang Chenling_SEU224 This is a very amazing speech! In this video, Chiara Cecchini put forward an idea - Food was a problem and Food became her purpose. She shared her experience with us and explained why she said that. She wanted to make a change for such a situation. In order to find solutions for the food system, she and her team organized a worldwide journey with her students to do researches. Then, they collected lots of useful information helping them improve our food system. Besides, she pointed out proteins and said insects are the thing that can be considered for gain proteins and reduce cost. Waste is another thing she said. The world waste a lot every day and we need to pay attention to this. In addition, she told us how technology can be used to develop the food system and improve people' health, but in fact for achieving this, we still need to make a lot of effort because not every country can achieve it. Finally, she also said if everyone can do a little bit, it will help our planet become sustainably. Anyway, I learned a lot from this video and have a new understanding.

You're right Stephen, but we hear that every day and still it doesn't change people's habits. I think her emphasis is that the future will just be a very different world of food consumption, with or without meat.
