Haha omg when I was in elementary school, so many of my classmates would eat those uncooked crushed ramen packets using the mama noodles brand! I remember a friend let me try it, and it was so good. I told my parents if they could get me a packet, but they told me not to eat them because it’s unhealthy and full of sodium! You can say that traumatized me because to this day, I still haven’t eaten uncooked crushed ramen 😂😂

@@violetviolet888 Haha I actually just did yesterday! I was craving a snack, and there was nothing in the pantry, but I remembered this comment! So I ended up trying it, and it wasn't too bad. The seasoning got all over the bottom, so the dried noodles weren't as flavorful lol! I don't think I'll eat it often, but it was a nice experience!

Hawaii local here! Spicy Ahi (and shoyu) poke are also found at the Costco's in Hawaii and other local grocery stores (fyi spicy ahi is one of the Hawaii local's favorite flavor of poke ;) ) At least for the Costco's here, they use fresh ahi which is why it's quite expensive ($19/lb) but definitely still the authentic poke and not that other fake poke sold on the mainland (Continental US) that uses edamame, corn, etc. and it's not even mixed! lol

I call those little ones spring rolls. Maybe it’s a East Coast thing? The rule of thumb at restaurants near me is usually: egg rolls=large crispy fried rolls with a dark bubbly outer shell filled with cabbage and a meat at least, spring rolls=small fried rolls with a light smooth crispy shell and only vegetable filing (what vegetarians can order), and fresh/summer rolls=rice paper wrapped rolls with fresh vegetables and protein of your choice

Taiwanese castella is very likely a borrowed item from japanese washoku, western influenced Japanese cuisine. The castella you have here is the Japanese one and is typically quite sweet, the texture is also normal for it and still is sponge cake as opposed to creamed butter cake. Taiwanese castella is made with a souffle technique and is therefore going to look taste and feel entirely different. Also the rolls, the ones shown as spring rolls in the photo inserts seem more like Vietnamese summer rolls.

Whenever they would advertise durian as another flavour for any snack, the durian would seep in as an undertone for any other flavour of the same snack LOL. Question: Is the kitchen a seperate room, cuz if it is then by far, this kitchen ticks all the boxes for ASMR! Another Question: Why would the Banh Pia snack add the Hopia word to the package since Hopia is Filipino with Bakpia as its Indonesian sibling? So are they saying that the Banh Pia is the Vietnamese sibling of Hopia? The labelling confuses me. LUV the kitchen btw, Go Meimei! Also Go Meimei for 500K! ❤️

This was hecka funny and entertaining to watch! Thank you! So glad KZbin suggested your video to me :) This makes me want a Costco membership. Ramen crushed up with the soup packet and Sanrio - so nostalgic. I’d like to see you try more nostalgia foods.

Spring rolls = super thin fried wrapper Egg rolls=wrappers made with egg, thick and bubbles when fried Summer rolls=non fried (vietnamese style with rice noodles, bean sprouts, shrimp, etc.) Just my opinion

I think I would buy the Hello Kitty Noodles! I love how plain, but has a solid base flavor. This should allow me to switch it up every now and then. Make it similar to biang biang noodles (with the chili oil), or even add a roasted sesame sauce. Many different toppings and veggies would pair nicely with the noodles too. Thanks so much for reviewing them!

Some sautéed bok choy and beef or whatever and you've got a whole meal. Thank you Meimei 🥲✌🏾

In Quebec, Canada, we also used to eat ramen noodles not cooked with the seasoning in the 90's, as a snack at school! Or dried uncooked macaronis xD. And for the " spring rolls ", like these you call egg rolls, in french we call them « rouleaux impériaux », wich means Royal or imperial rolls.
