Haha, watching your video on my telly, and it's like you answered my question before I could ask it. I'm off to check his channel as soon as I finish saying what I want to say. My wife and I were married for 13 years, and spent one of those apart during the week due to work commitments. We talked every day, (except Tuesdays which was curry night with her workmate) and later we were together 24/7 for the last few years of her life as her cancer took hold and I was her full-time carer. I treasured every moment, but never ever dreamed of telling her she couldn't work in another city. I'm finally getting what will most likely be my final bike (actually a Goldwing trike) wow, a plethora of Boss Houses... and look forward to riding solo and with friends. Two different kinds of riding but both are fun... low carb??? Noooooo!🫣... oh wow, Aligators! So cute.. sorry, I'll stop my commentary, but love the way you chat along while riding. Makes me miss my darling even more.. we would chat incessantly and then instantly forget what we were talking about.. You really have a gift of enjoyable off-script-narrative. Keep it up! Wow, is that the camera or does the dash blink on and off. Wow great sunset shot... I'll stop now.😁

Most of my riding is alone especially on long trips. But maybe that’s because I’m retired and my riding friends are still working. Riding alone I can travel at my own speed and stop when I want to. I feel confident that I can take care of whatever happens, and I am very resourceful.

Good times. Thank you. This might sound kind of hokey, but perhaps consider it for a while; putting on some 20/80 dual sport tires on the R18 for those gravel and sand situations.Jen you could explore more and do more cool lifestyle content on the motorcycle. If you are ever in Costa Mesa California check out the Speedway at the Orange County Fairgrounds. Lots of cool motorcycle people and they even have their street legal Harley Davidson's race on the sand track. 1/5 mile oval. You were actually close when you came out to do the Honda Navi release. I'm thinking about moving to Florida. so I'm enjoying this content extra extra. Happy trails, and thank you again.

8:40 that is me. As beautiful as the Florida coast is, the entire state is so flat it drives me insane. I was never so happy to get into Georgia and see mountains and hills again. I am a hillbilly, not a coastal dweller and I love my coast people, but I love my fellow hillbillies too. You talking about missing your husband rings a real heart string. It's like you can't be together and be in each other's way but you can't be apart too. I hope he flies down to a place you are staying and just surprises you for a couple of days and then you can keep exploring. Florida is too flat for me. lol. Now, if I had a fishing boat, I could live on, we might be saying something. To me though, the morning in the mountains and those little towns nestled in the valleys, that right there, is heaven.

I'm a truck driver, and what you said about leaving loved ones behind pulled at my heart strings. I was divorced at 17 years of marriage, and I wish I had paid attention to the resentment I caused and maybe fixed it. Communication isn't only the key. Comprehension is way more important. I'm also a solo rider. And I quit using maps or GPS. Full tank, pick a direction. I love your adventures and only have one thing to ask. Can you ride to Forgotten Angels and interview David and Cindy? I think a lot of people would love to see that. Ride happy!

Bang ! You hit it again, there you go capturing motorcycling , the solitude and alone time I feel when I climb on and head to another state down some lonely road is something we share in this wonderful lifestyle we call Riding! The alone is a feeling I describe as wonderful and even at times Guilt as I leave my wife at home , a guilt that has at times turned my wheels back in her direction . So many times she has told me , You need to go for a ride, see you when you get back ! Love this video will see it again and again , thanks for what you do, yes hit that bar again and go fishing on that pier !😎👍

Hmmm… I fully get you! For years I was also riding alone, and really enjoyed it. One day my wife said “You are always so happy, when you get home from a ride, I think I would like to ride too”. So she took a class and got her license for motorcycle and bought one. Now she has really gotten into it and just upgraded to a CanAm Spyder last week. Riding together is so awesome and being able to have the experiences together just beats everything. So I totally get you about being able to do things together as a couple. But cudos to you both for giving each other space to do, what you enjoy. I’m sure you will also get many nice rides together. Keep on the good work with this channel.

Jess, you’re putting out great content. I think sometimes we have to remind ourselves that we don’t need a destination to ride when really all we care about is riding. You’re a visitor to the area so it’s great to just explore as much as possible. I think it’s great that you and your husband have the type of relationship in which both of you are understanding and supportive of one another. I hope you enjoy the rest of your time in Florida. Also, I hope Jordan enjoys drinking beer with his friends….which is what my friends and I do when our wives are out of town. 🤷🏼♂️

I fully understand riding alone. This is all pre apps, well pre cell phones lol. I spent my first 25 years riding solo and loving it. I loved riding to get lost then finding my way home. I gave up two wheels, for now, due to bad knees. My wife loved riding with me so 4 years ago I mentioned a trike to her. She said sure and was sending me pics of trikes until i told her to stop. We settled on a 1967 VW custome trike that I love modifying. We still ride when we can. It brings us closer together. Have fun and enjoy your travels. You and he will still travel together but the alone rides are still great. Okay, I'm done. Love your channel.

Jess, i feel that you have the correct attitude about people that say and do thing negatively concerning you and your life = mood/thrill killers. One of many things that I learned in my 76 years of life is that there seems to be a lot of people that for some reason are unhappy and just want to make others unhappy. Hence the saying "Misery loves company". You don't have a problem they do. Carry on with what you are doing for as long as Jordan understands you and what you want to do then you are on the right track to happiness. He has his job that is keeping him there for now but some time in the near future you two will find a way to do more together.

I totally understand you. I’m lucky that my wife was a teacher and had 3 months off every summer. I got to take two weeks off every summer to go do the things that typical husbands with a wife and two kids could never do. I’d go to mountain bike festivals, mountain bike races in Colorado, or California, or go white water rafting or biking along the Pacific coast, while living out of a minivan for two weeks. The other 50 weeks were family time, but those two weeks really brought me back in touch with who I was at the core.

My wife always liked the Sand hill cranes this time of year in Florida, you don't have to worry about gators unless they are dead in the middle of the road. Fishing is great I used to love doing it when I had a boat and I was able to walk along the banks. Again if you missed last time Mote Marina, or any power plant. I've walked up on 12 and larger gators in the ponds where my inlaws used to live and they don't want to mess with you. I guess they can be a bit territorial in the late winter early spring when it is breeding season, but you can hear them grumble so you can know when it is a bit iffy.

Hi Jess, First time writing on your channel and sadly I have a sad story to tell about the loneliness, believe me your situation is not as bad as it seems. I always had the passion of motorcycles, My first love was a Yamaha RD350, fell in love with the looks but never had the chance to ride one, I was 15. A few years later I finally got a pal lending me his Yamaha RM125, struggling with the clutch but manged somehow to ride, I had a blast even if broke something ( bones and clutch wire ) that's in 3 summers straight. Yeah I'm bad at it but still loved it. now 30 years later I live in the land where the GS1000 is king and let me tell you that not only is difficult to get the license but very VERY expensive. No one shares my passion in my family or friends, still ain't got to the point the get my two wheel as legitimate transport or for fun ( nope ain't got the car license as I'm even worse at it ) I just want a Indian Scout to move my butt around ( and in style ) All seems like a dream out of reach.

I need to tell you about an incident from c. 1995 when I'd ridden from Daytona Beach to visit my failing father in NE Louisiana where I'd grown up. Going back to Florida I'd just gotten onto I-40 on my Honda Interstate when another Interstate rider zoomed past me at about 80 mph. I recognized him as the guy who'd gotten me into motorcycles back in the 1970s. I wanted to chat with him so I cranked on the throttle until I was pacing him and the guy he was already riding with. Wound up pushing 90 to keep up ! Fortunately those two exited for fuel in Jackson, MS, and I followed them to the pumps where I pulled up next to Carl to say hi. It was a good brief chat but we had to part there. I turned south to pick up I-10 at the coast. It's the kind of chance meeting other riders will relate to. It's one of the delights of riding that one doesn't enjoy enclosed in four wheels. Like smelling the doughnut shops and stray pizzerias.

That was such a nice location and restaurant. A nice ride as well. To me I can't really relate yet if I want or like to ride with someone or not. Also with commuting to work i've been driving alone in my car for years now. Had some people ride along with me, but I do kinda prefer being alone as well. Just minding my own business listening to tunes etc. Also less of a hassle since even though i'm punctual, I sometimes leave later or earlier then usual and it's less of a worry for times sake. But for sure I do like having company at home or maybe when I get to see awesome sights which I could show to my loved ones.

Well, Jess? I am so glad you finally made it up to Lake County. This is where I moved to after being raised in the Keys. The Hideaway is a great place. You were also around 5 minutes from another super waterfront place to eat, in Howey-in-the-Hills, called Boondocks. Try it as well. The Town of Tavares also has some good waterfront places. One is called PuddleJumpers. Tavares is known as a Seaplane base and these will be landing and taking off right in front of you at that restaurant. Seaplane rides are also available. Head North up along the St. Johns River and you will find super places in Astor to eat. Ride West to Dunellon and the gorgeous Rainbow river. Eat at Stumpknockers. North and west of Dunellon, on the coast is Cedar Key. You will love that as well and a gorgeous ride. BTW - We have antique boat events once in a while at that pier you watched the sunset at. You are in a great area to explore and much more relaxed riding up here. Enjoy!!
